and so far I am loving it. I haven't laughed out loud that much in a while. After that I have no idea what I will read. Any suggestions are appreciated though.

G.A. Aiken, they are in the same vein.

I'm still reading it, not as good as Daughter of Smoke & Bone, but I'm liking it so far. Alice is a normal teenage girl, that suddenly sees her entire world upside down... the way that life continues normal, problems, school, and when bizarre things occur and she tries to get some rational explanation and at same time starts questioning her mental health sounds very... real...

I've heard lots of mixed reviews, but I love the cover

I wasn't that into it because the only book from Gena Showalter I've tried was Playing with Fire and the heroine was so annoying that I gave up after 4 ou 5 chapters - I just couldn't stand her. But so far, Alice isn't that bad... ok, so it has boy drama, high school drama, and a potential love triangle like almost all YA books - seriously, what's the appeal? - and some stalkierish behavior paired with the "you're too pretty and weak to know what is best for you so shut up and do as I say" speech - again, what's the appeal? - But the action isn't like now life is normal...splash... now is not, on the contrary, she's evolving gradually, we don't have a "supernatural exists so deal with it" information dump, and I think is that particularity that is captivating me. But, I only read 1/3 of the book, so I can't say that much...
I'll be interested to hear what you think in the end Sonia.I just finished a reread of
and I think I liked it better the second time around. Now I'm starting
. I have high hopes for this one, as I loved the third.

I so didn't know that thanks for the recommendation!

Until then I will finish reading the Shifters series by Rachael Vincent.
Just finished
3,5 stars for me@Gin - I liked more than I'd expected, but is a typical YA setting - school, boys, parents who allow theirs children fight with monsters and a satisfactorial plot - I didn't suspect who the bad guy was, but maybe I'm losing qualities :o)
I thibk I'll continue the series - after all I thought it was better than House of Night and Dark Elite series, I'd say at the same level of the Mortal Instruments series IMO

Glad you like it. It sounds like it might be a little too YA for, but I think I'll still get to it at some point.
I just finished Time Untime and you know it was kind of a weird one. I was not really a fan of the last one and this one was not much better.
I'm reading http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... . Great book! For people who love extraordinary books.

How is it?
I know I should finish the ones I'm currently reading now, but I don't know if I can wait :D
@Sonia I looooove it!! I put down the book I was reading to start it; I couldn't wait either. I'm trying to take it slow, so that it doesn't end. I'm about half through now. It is a lot darker and more emotional than the first, but just as beautifully written. Let me know what you think when you start.
@Gin I was deciding what to do and almost pick it up but a friend of mine that is half through Daughter of Smoke & Bone asked me to wait for him for a buddy read and I said yes *cries a little* so I'm biting my nails and trying very hard not to prompt "r u finish yet! r u finish yet!" but is so not easy!!!More emotional? Oh dear.. if I had to choose one single word about the first one it would be heartbreaking - yeah, I know, I'm too old for that kind of girlish attitude, but I don't care - Now I'm even more impatient to read it. Thankfully, Seraphina is catching my interest right now, so I'll be entertained while waiting :o)
@Sonia Yes waiting is extremely hard; especially after the ending of the first book. It picks up where it left off, which I suppose is exactly where the heartbreaking part started. How is
? I've been considering reading that one.
@Gin Seraphina is amazing! I usually don't read high fantasy books - I used to be an huge Juliet Marillier fan but since I've discovered UF genre it kinda lost the appeal - but this one is so well written and the characters so appealing that I'm really really enjoying it. The plot is very solid, the world-building is amazing and the story-line is not rushed but doesn't pace slowly either, and all the small details... I usually only reserve the 5 stars rating for those books that I can't put down from beginning to end, but this one, so far is a 4.5.I decided to give it a chance after reading the short-story The Audition - we can have "a first feel" of the characters and a sample of the writing, although in a younger/lighter tone
Sonia wrote: "@Gin Seraphina is amazing! I usually don't read high fantasy books - I used to be an huge Juliet Marillier fan but since I've discovered UF genre it kinda lost the appeal - but this one is so well ..."I'll give The Audition a try. I need some dragon books for a challenge anyway.

It is a light read - Seraphina is a tad more complex tale, but The Audition is a good introduction to Seraphina's world.
Darcy: Read

So, I am reading Something Witchy by AJ Myers, and holee jebus! This one is a really good read, and I am not one to usually go googly for YA PNR. Still, it is well written, and keeps the tension up nicely. The advantage of being part of Parasite Publications is that I get to grab the books before they go out, but this one releases tomorrow on November 15th. It is a really fun read and a real seat grabber too. I am told if you manage to grab it in the first few days (15th to the 18th I think) you can get it for a buck as they want to help get it out there. I highly recommend it and hey, it is inexpensive to boot.

Now reading
I am still at a loss though as to this attraction between Paris and Sienna...we shall see what Ms. Showalter does with it...
I'm reading cast in chaos: chronicles of Elantra by Michelle Sagara. I began cleaning out books that needed read. I have read The Chronicles of Elantra starting with 1st book. Cast in Shadow, 2: Courtlight,3:Secret,4:Fury,5:Silence,6:almost finished cast in Chaos.
Finished
and liked it a lot, currently reading
, taking it slowly because I'm absolutely loving it and I'm trying to savor every bit.
ohh, an there's only 3 more left to read in that series and I will be done. there's no way I would be able to complete the spring clean up challenge by the 30th. I just found out about the challenge last week. I think I still have 13 books left. I'm sorry but I won't complete that challenge. think I will start new in December on any challenges.
