I like both but Peeta is my favorite. Definitely no bad mojo, just a fun thing to debate. :)
Honestly, I think Gale would give his life for Katniss too, but he hasn't had a chance to show it in the books. He really loves her, but the thing I like about him is that he also keeps things in perspective. Peeta just wants Katniss to live, and I think he really couldn't care less about the revolution as long as Kat makes it out alive. Gale wants her to live and wants a free country for them to live together in.

Becca, once again I find myself agreeing with you completely!! You took the words right out of my mouth! And as Jaime stated, I also have no hatred for Peeta, but I'm sticking with Team Gale.
You guys are making me think. I bet Gale would give his life for her. He's just so darn level headed. Truth is...I like to be in charge. And I want my guy to love me desperately. Not rationally. Guess that's why I'm rooting for Peeta. He is smart, charming and handsome. He's also no idiot. But Katniss could definitely be in charge. Where as I think Gale may object to bowing so much to her forceful personality. I'm just sayin'...

Goes back to my theory that the "opposites attract" formula will be used in Mockingjay. :)

Mandi, what you're saying about Gale is one of the reasons I like him more than Peeta. Sounds like we have a similar analysis but have come to different conclusions. I prefer the level-headed, strong, protector type. I just think Peeta would get annoying after a while. But I agree, his 1st priority is Katniss.

You're right. It would get annoying. Woo Hoo for pretend boys!! I never had much interest in Gale. But I can kind of see it now. Like I said, rugged and manly.

So happy that Jaime is laid back!

Lol, or we could just move this over to the HG thread. Sounds pretty similar to what's there. Peeta vs. Gale, it will never get old.

Thanks goodness or we all might be gone. I love this group! Never a dull moment (except around midnight my time when the whole sight is kind of dead, oh well, I may as well be sleeping/reading)
Wow. I missed all that! We are so ADHD here! p.s. welcome to all new members. This actually is the welcome page, don't run away!
Hi everyone! I am so excited to see a group for adults that love YA books :). That's me! I read up a storm, and most recently have become obsessed with YA since my friend started studying to be a writer. It will be great to have other people to chat with!
Welcome Jessica! Good thing I posted my last post, or poor Jessica would wonder what thread she was on!
Hi all.I'm Lauren and at 17 am a YA reader of YA books. I have been reading for more than half my life, i taught myself to read when i was 5 and pretty much haven't stopped since. I'm homeschooled so i can devote pretty much as much time as i want to reading. Some of most favorite YA series/books are the Twilight novels, the Luxe novels, the Inheritence cycle, the Percy Jackson novels, the Blue Bloods novels, the Artemis Fowl novels, the Mortal Instruments trilogy, the Gossip Girl novels and many others as well. I also read nearly every other genre, and i never plan to stop reading YA novels, not even when i'm in my 50's or something. I love to meet new people and accept nearly all friend requests, so if you want to be friends just send a request my way.
Welcome! You will all love it here!
Hi all! I'm Amanda, 27, and I'm from a small town called Doniphan, Missouri. Growing up, since I wasn't one of those kids that ran around looking for trouble, reading was (and still is) my main pastime. (There's not much to do here, otherwise.)Mostly I stuck with horror, thrillers, or mysteries but as I've gotten older, I've started branching out a bit. I really enjoy any sort of historical fiction (oh Ken Follett, where have you been all my life!), and I've started looking into all sorts of non-fiction as well.
For awhile, I thought my love of YA fiction was a bit odd. I mean, here I am, almost 30 now and still reading kids books. But as I've learned, it really doesn't matter what age you are, you can still enjoy a good book, no matter what age group it was written for.
I'm currently reading: Grapes of Wrath, The Wolfman, Through the Looking Glass, and The Zombie Survival Guide.
Hi, Amanda! We're neighbors, I'm barely west of the Mo. border in Louisburg, Ks. My sister is a middle school teacher and I have kids who fit this age group...so I have had a good excuse not to be humiliated by my love of YA. It's kind of like using your toddler as an excuse to go see that new animated flick at the theater.
Who needs a toddler to go see a good animated flick? I have one, but I've never taken him to the theater. My husband uses me as his excuse to go see the latest kids movies. We loved Princess and the Frog.Anyway, I digress. Welcome Amanda!
Hey Becca, I liked Princess and the Frog too! But I'm a fan of animated movies in general and I love the old Disney princesses movies because I grew up watching those.
Chacic! you're my new best friend! Nobody, and I mean nobody can beat me in Disney SceneIt! I LOVE Disney and all things animated. LOVED the new 3D "How to Train Your Dragon." Thought is was the best movie I've seen in a while.
I loved it too! I watched it on my birthday actually. :) Totally worth the extra money you had to pay for 3D.
I'm currently building my collection of Disney cartoons. I just bought two more yesterday and we're going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, so you know I'm going to get more. I can't help myself.
Bluemoon, join in the fun!I know what you mean, you just have to collect all of them until you have everything. Sadly, I don't have a collection myself. What's your favorite Disney princess movie, by the way? Mine's Beauty and the Beast. :)
oh my goodness, I don't know if I can pick a favorite. I love Tiana (princess and the frog) and Mulan simply because they are such strong women, but I think my favorite has always been Ariel. Love me some mermaid!

I don't have a collection either, but maybe I should start?
Chachic wrote: "I love Mulan too! But I don't know, I've always liked the Beauty and the Beast story."Did anyone ever watch Disney's Sleeping Beauty? For some reason, it's one of my favourites.
