Callie (neverlandcallie) 2010:

Goal#1: I'm not deleting my Goodreads account again this year.
Goal#2: I'm not going to be a retard, and not write. I will write.

Writing Goal#1: 200 words, daily
Writing Goal#2: At least 1,400 words weekly

Editing Goal#1: 1 page daily
Editing Goal#2: 7 pages weekly

Re-writing Goal: 1 page monthly

Contest Goal: At least find some contests to enter, and then write. :D

Happy 2010 guys! (my horoscope for the next year apparently says I'm going to fall in love around autumn. ha ha)

*edit* I'm going to write everyday except sundays. But if I do write then, it counts!

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments Arn't your goal #1 and goal #2 the same?

message 3: by Paul (new)

Paul Very detailed list there. Good luck!

message 4: by Malin (new)

Malin (tusenord) I should set myself a goal #1 about any group online. I have a tendency to Cyber Suicide.... Should we keep each other from it?

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments yeah I'm going to turn off facebook. Facebook murderers novels.

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments true that. only i can't really live without it either … *sigh*

message 8: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments IKR? And I figured out how to get the internet working on this dinosaur of a laptop, which just makes it worse. Last year I could write and write because there wasnt a connection.

message 9: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments lol. yeah, my old laptop didn't have internet so i focused a lot more. XD ever since i've gotten this laptop i get distracted all the time. of course, since i have internet on this computer i can also use Write or Die, so it kind of balances out XD

message 10: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments What's Write or Die?

message 11: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments This spectacular amazing website … You set yourself a time limit and a word goal, and then you write in a box thing and it turns red and starts making noises at you if you space out and stop writing. Very useful indeed.

Try it out: http://writeordie.drwicked.com/

message 12: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments Oh yeah, my friend told me about that. It sounds... really annoying.

message 13: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments It is annoying, which is why it works so fabulously. I wrote 3000 words in 1 1/2 hours this morning. :)

message 14: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments omg. I envy you. But since just yesterday I finished the rough draft of Shadows (!!!) I mainly need to edit, and give a couple of my characters more personality.

message 15: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments AWESOME! *high fives* :D editing … fun fun fun! ;D haha

message 16: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments I've been "editing" it since I finished it in JUNE. I just did, like, nothing over the summer.

message 17: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments lol. yeah, neither did i. i only edited over the summer … >_<

Not for me! I'm keeping facebook.

message 22: by Callie (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) I finally finished my nano novel Christmas Eve! Hallelujah. But then I decided I wanted to do a rewrite of Fyre . . . what am I getting myself into?

Malin (tusenord) Annie wrote: "Malin wrote: "I should set myself a goal #1 about any group online. I have a tendency to Cyber Suicide.... Should we keep each other from it?"

I wonder if there's some sort of group for it - like Anonymous Cyber Suiciders. And a twelve step program. 1. Always sleep before erasing your membership.

message 24: by Callie (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) true to that! Yes, it would be cool if there was a group for it. :D

Hey Annie 8D That's a mighty fine goal you've got there. I don't even bother myself with editing, >-> being the lazy bum I am.

Good luck :)

message 26: by Callie (last edited Dec 28, 2009 10:40AM) (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) yeah, I've been editing one book for a total of 2 years now. It's bugging the crap out of me . . . good luck to you too!

message 27: by Just Plain Ray (new)

Just Plain Ray (Ray_of_Sunshine) | 234 comments Thanks :3

And I actually did write a novel/novella one time, and I was planning to edit it, but once it came down to actually doing it...well, I gave up.

Not much motivation, really, and teh story itself isn't very well written so editing it would really mean writing it all over again, except for a few bits.

message 28: by Callie (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) yeah. ha ha. Yesterday I decided to re-write about half the book. I think this book might as well kill me someday.

message 29: by Just Plain Ray (new)

Just Plain Ray (Ray_of_Sunshine) | 234 comments Ouch; that doesn't sound fun.

message 30: by Callie (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) Nope, it's not. But hopefully it'll end up better than it was. *crosses fingers*

message 31: by Amy (new)

Callie (neverlandcallie) ha ha, I doubt I would survive.

Hey can anyone help me with something?
I have to do an assignment for English about Romeo and Juliet. So Romeo's talking, and he's about to commit suicide and all, and he says this: How oft when men are at the point of death Have they been merry! which their keepers call A lightning before death: O, how may I call this a lightning?. What does the bold part mean? It's driving me insane.

I think he's saying that there had to be something shocking, horrible, right before to force them into suicide. In his case, Juliet's supposed death. But then he feels as though you can't compare Juliet's death to a lightning strike.

That' s my interpretation.

Oh … I should know this. I had to read/interpret Romeo and Juliet in ninth grade.

Well, I'm not sure. But from the context, it sounds like he's saying: He's heard people say that you're supposed to feel happy for a moment right before you die. And he knows that he's about to die, but he doesn't feel happy. The lightning represents that flash of happiness, and he says "how may I call this a lightning?" because he doesn't feel that flash of joy that he's supposed to feel.

… Does that make sense? O_o

lol! yeah … i don't think Walking Shadow is the interpretation that Shakespeare had in mind when he wrote MacBeth. lol XD I can just imagine handing it in to my English teacher last year, like, "Hey, here's my final project for MacBeth!" lol
