The first book came out already (clockwork angel)...it's set in the same world of shadowhunters and stuff but I think it's set in 19th century Victoria London. I think it's gonna be a trilogy

Maybe it's a way to select people... the person who's wearing a piercing is making a statement... maybe it means 'I don't care what you think about my piercing' or 'if you don't wanna kiss me b/c of my piercing, I don't wanna kiss you either'.
I wear black nail polish on my hands quite often and I think it has a similar effect. If somebody doesn't like my nail polish, it's their problem, not mine.

BTW I wear black nail polish because I like it. I don't wanna make a statement. So, maybe piercing guys are the same, they just end up making a statement even if it's not the original intention. Because, at the end of the day, they're saying, if you don't like it, it's your problem.

PS: I'm not a fan of piercing but I'm sure that if I really like the guy, I'd kiss him anyway.
