Jennifer (jnhart) Would Aislin Grey books qualify in the demon category?

Yes, Jennifer. Although not the main character, Jim is prominent enough to be major in the storyline.

ok, for a Scifi/alien etc book--

Redline the Stars (the female love interest is half alien, and it takes place on a space station with many aliens)

Retread Shop This one might take some searching for. But I LOVED it. Basically its set in a space going junk yard. Where the junk is all the cast-offs from many different alien civilizations, including some from civilizations that are millions--to possibly billions--of years old.

I don't think Slave to Sensation counts for aliens either. It would come under the psychic or shifter category.

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) TFG - If you don't want to do a re-read for the space category, I hear really good things about Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair. I still haven't read it but I'm going to get there eventually! Actually, I may even pick it for this month, we'll see...

message 161: by Kelley Anne (last edited Dec 30, 2009 11:54AM) (new)

Kelley Anne | 286 comments A really good series that would fit with the aliens/space adventurers/space mercenaries is the new series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Born of Night, Born of Fire (The League, #2), Born of Ice.

Also, some other ideas:
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Hmmmm......would the series by Lara Adrian technically count? They are vampires but not in the traditional sense. They are decendants of basically aliens.

message 166: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Another one for the alien category is The Better Part of Darkness by Kelly Gay. It's a new book that came out last month and so far it has really good reviews. The synopsis mentions "beings from heaven & hell" and doesn't mention aliens, but if you read the reviews you'll see that those beings are from other planets.

Rachel--except for the Dec. challenge, we're allowed to change any book we want to. That Dec. challenge was a real toughie, since I kept having library books come in that HAD to be gotten back, because there was still a waiting line on them. And I was having a hard time coming up with time to read. If I'd been able to change my books, I'd have been finished sooner (ok, only like 3 or 4 days sooner, but still. . .) I didn't LIKE that one Yz--but it was still good cause it DID make me get some books off my tbr pile.

I actually did already read it- back in June & July, I pretty much read everything that Jennifer Crusie wrote that I could get my hands on. There's only 1 earlier book that is out of print and not even at a library that I haven't read. She was a perfect sit outside and read type of author.

It could be used for 5, 6, or 10, but not 9. Danny is many things, but a psychic is not one of them. And, needless to say, she isn't dead.

I strongly recommend this series, though mainly because of Danny's love interest, Japhrimel. He is to die for. Lucas, McKinnely, and Vann from the later books are also pretty cool. There is an online serial about one of the minor characters, Selene, too.
