Joseph (josephbarjack) What a bunch of no talent, Tolkien reading, blues stealing, drug ingesting, mudshark ass spanking, unoriginal hacks! I used to own all their cds when I was thirteen which I sold back to buy more intellectual and rocking albums by Bad Religion, Black Flag, Bad Brains, etc. I don't understand what people hear in their songs and John Bonham wasn't a good drummer (Bill Ward of Black Sabbath is a thousand times better).

The Crimson Fucker (tcf123) | -6 comments BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

burn him burn him alive!!!!!!

The Crimson Fucker (tcf123) | -6 comments KD, for the first time EVER I disagree with you!!!! Dude Achilles last stand WTF!!!! That song is hot!

The Crimson Fucker (tcf123) | -6 comments Donna, GUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH WTF?

The Crimson Fucker (tcf123) | -6 comments Donald, fuck the Eagles... but Zeppelin???? c'mon!

Sally (mrsnolte) | -1 comments Donna! I am APPALLED at you promoting razor usage!

And KD - Get the F**K out of my cab!

Jackie "the Librarian" Hmm, Joseph seems awfully defensive about Led Zeppelin...
Perhaps he's wishing he'd never sold his albums, and is trying to justify that decision to himself?

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Robert Plant is a waxer. Have you seen his chest?

Jackie "the Librarian" Hey! I listen to classic rock radio! 'Cause, you know, it rawks!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Say what you want about the Zep. But Bill Ward ain't no fucking John Bonham. A dead John Bonham is 1,000 times the better drummer than a living Bill Ward.

And I like Bill Ward's drumming.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I will not!

message 11: by Joseph (new)

Joseph (josephbarjack) I disagree Gus. Bill Ward kept a better beat and kept control of his alcoholism. Besides, Zeppelin is still weak compared to Black Sabbath. The Smiths even surpass Zep in terms of power.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Disagree all you want, but saying Bill Ward did a better job of keeping his alcoholism under control is a stupid point. So, what, Keith Moon was a shitty drummer because he couldn't keep a better beat and died of (ironically) an overdose of anti-alcoholism drugs? Bad analogy, bud.

I ain't saying Ward was a bad drummer, but, let's face it, when you talk about the best drummers ever, Bonham's name is always mentioned. Not Ward's.

Oh, and the Smiths surpass Zep in terms of power...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah, fuckin' right. When was the last time someone did an air-guitar to Bigmouth Strikes Again. I love the Smiths, but, also, not an accurate statement you've made.

Oh, and KD - nyeah, nyeah!!!

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Poor Bill my ass.

I say what I say as a former drummer. I've studied both drummers, and, techniques and all that, Bonham's the better drummer. Again, no disrespect mean to Bill Ward, but Bonham being the better drummer is an obvious fact.

message 14: by Joseph (new)

Joseph (josephbarjack) Looks like we'll agree to disagree. Even though in 20 years Zep's muzak will be the equivalent of old people listening to ragtime in this day and age.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll let you slide on the "agree to disagree" statement. And don't go knocking ragtime; I know plenty of young folks who listen to ragtime.

No, I don't, actually.

message 16: by [deleted user] (last edited May 02, 2008 05:09PM) (new)

good god i knew i shouldn't have entered steve's den of slimey inequity but i missed some of you and my public burning was eons ago as i've been told by the pseudo sage (randomanth-who would be just the sage but seth has that nomiker (sic) moniker (what is that word!?)
but...
i never thought i'd hear such tragic hate
such ill formed, ill defined, ill mannered, ill ill ill music sacriledge
if led zep hadn't expanded the universe
the big bang of every other band would have been nearly impossible
just as uriah heap, the moody blues and others skirted the edge of consciousness
the lovely mosaic of rock and roll would have several black holes that would not contain heavy matter if...IT...WERE...NOT...FOR...THE...ORIGINAL...COSMIC...EXPLORERS
shall we also spit on jimi, janis, and grace slick while we are dishonoring the ancestors?
leave me in peace as i turn into the equivalent of old people listening to ragtime in this day and age. or perhaps just turn a lighter shade of pale

message 17: by Tesse (new)

Tesse (hooksinmyhead) I am going to stay out of the fray, most of the points I would have made are covered.

Suffice it to say that Zep is overrated.

The reason I am posting is to ask KD, is that Mojo Nixon rockin' your avatar?

Jackie "the Librarian" Really Sarah M? Never heard Stairway to Heaven? Is that possible?

message 19: by Tesse (new)

Tesse (hooksinmyhead) Steve used to play this insidious version of Stairway on his acoustic guitar.

It sounded like Zep processed through The Byrds meets The Association. It was jangly, bouncy and relentlessly cheerful.

Ooooch, just thinking about it makes me want to jam a pencil in my ear.

No, wait, in Steve's ear.

Jackie "the Librarian" I think Led Zeppelin fostered that feeling, Sarah M. They were supposed to be dangerous and raunchy, I think.
I always wonder at Robert Plant's choice of blouses, though, with the little cap sleeves... To me they looked cute, not rock and roll, even unbuttoned.

Jackie "the Librarian" Sarah: I've probably heard alot of them. I just don't realize when it's them.

Most likely. They also did Whole Lotta Love, and Rock and Roll, which was recently used for Cadillac commercials.

message 22: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) I wasn't going to hate on the Zep, but since Maureen is championing them... then here I go... Fuck Led Zeppelin. They can take a Stairway to my Ass.

message 23: by Anne-Marie (last edited May 05, 2008 04:57AM) (new)

Anne-Marie Oh the problem is they're over played and therefor become "over rated" they happen to be one of my favorite bands, and at the time were an original sound. The problem is their stuff that is over played isn't some of the better songs. Stairway is alright, Rock and Roll is not horrible but not their best, Black Dog is the best of their over played stuff but that's about it.

My Zeppelin 3 favorites include:

Dazed and Confused
Baby I'm Gonna Leave You
I happen to like Misty Mountain Hop ha ha

message 24: by Lisa (new)

Lisa When I was about 12 or 13, I first connected the name Led Zeppelin to the music. And I thought, shit, THIS is what all these young-teenage boys are swooning over? My DAD listens to this shit!

Let's just say I began to think of teenage rawkers in a different light from that day forward.

message 25: by Charissa (new)

Charissa (dakinigrl) I do sometimes, however, listen to "Ramble On". ::hides:::

message 26: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (gogetta224gmailcom) Eeeew. My dad likes Led Zepplin. It's so oldies

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Your kids will be saying the same thing, as in, "Ewww, my mom likes Good Charlotte. It's so oldies!"

message 28: by Mercy (new)

Mercy (happybobbypenguin) Shocked. Utterly, completely shocked.

My dad also likes Led Zeppelin. He introduced me to Led Zeppelin. How can . . . ?It . . .
::shudder::
Hating Led Zeppelin.
Frightening.

Me and Led Zeppelin, we go way back.

Uncle Gus is totally right.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

See, I'm right. Told you, bitches!

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I am.

message 31: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) I just have one thing to say, if any of you hate Bob Dylan, I hate you, HATE YOU ALL!

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, fine, be that way, KD!

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I can understand it if you don't like Bob Dylan, but to hate him is like hating your very existence.

I have built shrines to reflect the greatness that is Robert Zimmerman. So, fuck you and your momma if you hate Bob Dylan.

Yeah, well, I hate Panic at the Disco, so blow me.

message 34: by Adam (new)

Adam G (adam_g) Woah..pretty heavy dude. Yeah black flag are great, but mon to the realty, the Zeppelin mammoth can never be underestimated...you'll come back round people always to, one day Immigrant Song will catch you with a back hand and you'll be looking to the heavens thanking the lord for the return to the station, after this you'll play Bron-Y-Aur Stomp and you'll be truly back, yes, yes...

message 35: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) I love Bob Dylan man! The guy's a freaking genius.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Woohoo! We're bonding, KD! We're having a bonding moment here. I like that.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Shh...we better stop meeting like this, or people will talk...

message 38: by Emma (new)

Emma Blue (litlover) god you people confuse me.

message 39: by Carlie (new)

Carlie Who is Led Zeppelin anyway?

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Who is Led Zeppelin???

THUD!

That was me having a heart attack.

message 41: by Carlie (new)

Carlie Dudes, not everybody here was raised american. And besides, isn't that rock?.....not everyone grows up listening to rock either. I'm pretty sure if you asked some random kid from the inner city who is led zeppelin, they'd give u a puzzled look.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Carlie, I can understand it if not everyone knew who Kraftwerk, or the Buzzcocks, or Rainbow, or the Runaways are, but even an inner-city kid would know who Led Zeppelin were.

Nor do you have to be raised American. Led Zeppelin was an English band whose fan base extends throughout the globe. Ask some pimply-faced 15-year-old Romanian kid, and he'll tell you he knows Led Zeppelin.

message 43: by Amanda (new)

Cool, Sarah. I'll send you the t-shirt for your b-day if you send me a Wii Fit for my b-day. Mine is October 15th.

I'm a bizarro Libra, actually. I'm totally off-balance.

message 48: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Oooooh, Gus, I'm a libra, too!

*Hi-5*

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)
