I was literally 2 seconds away from junking it and I thought, "why don't I plug this into another outlet....maybe the outlet has gone bad."

So things like this do happen to other people.

I have 49 pairs of underwear in the rotation. This doesn't count the thongs which I won't wear. About 5 of those probably.

The other day I donated a Fenton vase, an art glass vase, a 1950 Moonbeam deco clock and a few other items to a silent auction for a low-cost cat spay clinic.
I do this every year. My problem is that I could give them more but I just can't seem to get organized enough to get the stuff together in time. I end up rushing at the end and know there is more I can give but I just run out of time !
I need someone to push me along. Like a life coach or something.
I don't clutter...other than the craft room. Mr. Amy is always trying to throw things away. If it isn't something important to me, or something handed down to me, eventually I give in (usually). I know it's better to let the junk go.
Without him, I expect I would clutter plenty.

It takes me 20 minutes to fold all my underwear after doing laundry. Just the underwear. Then I stack them in fives.
Then you go wash your hands for 20 minutes with steel wool and open and shut the bedroom door four times before you can leave the room.

Has it begun yet? I need some encouragement to begin mine. It's in desperate need of an overhaul !
I've got a lot of useful things. Luckily, the big brother/big sister program sends a truck around at least once a month for donations.
The DVD player which I never use got put into a closet today. Next up: the TV. I'm sorely tempted just to throw the fucker in the dumpster, but technically it does still work. It's really old, but it "works."

At least I can gaze at this pristine NEW PAGE and know there is hope for an end to clutter in 2013.
Got rid of an old computer tower and a bag at the bottom of a closet filled with tights, Spanx, and exercise shorts. I rescued one Spanx that was still in good condition.

I also took in a pile of old Organic Gardening magazines for the magazine trade bin.
(I only bought 2 books from the sale corner.)
Threw out an old duffel bag today. In one of the pockets, a new pantyliner and some fresh packets of sugar. SCORE!
It's been a really long time since I've decluttered. I need to get rid of about 5 winter coats so I have more room in the hall closet.
Old financial files....ugh. I kept intending to burn them in the fireplace last winter but I never got around to it. Shredding takes forever.

Today I finally tackled the bottom section of my wardrobe. First on the list was washing a jacket that my cat pulled down and then used as a bed . I have been putting that one on the back burner. Old shoes were thrown in the bin. Next is sorting papers in an attache case. I think it contains notes from an out-placement course I did in 2015.
Last weekend I tackled my office. My desk drawer was overflowing with receipts and assorted papers so I culled that stuff. My files are now orderly and labelled and my stationery station is neat as a pin.
Cleaning the top of the kitchen cupboards, and the unused objects that reside there is now pending. It is a dark and evil looking place.
I haven't decluttered lately but I'm having my kitchen/porch window reglazed and repainted which it desperately needed.
