Darcy (sunnytat462) I am on my 3rd of the year, The Devil's Footprints, by Amanda Stevens. I am only 40 pages in and I am not sure what to think yet, but it is holding my interest enough to keep going which is good because I already had one that I couldn't finish.

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 394 comments Just finished my second. Me and My Shadow its the last of the Silver Dragon books by Katie MacAlister. Next up is her Dragons of Light series, which will take up where this one left off--just as this one took over from the Aisling Grey series.

message 153: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I had planned to get some reading done while staying at my mom's. I did do some reading but didn't finish anything. I'll try to read some before I go to bed tonight.

message 154: by Ann aka Iftcan (new)

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 394 comments I just finished my third book. I pulled a muscle in my leg yesterday, so have been reading a lot today, while alternating ice and heat on the muscle. Sigh, so NOT fun.

Margie (Bookzombie) (bookzombie08) I just finished my first book, Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously. I feel a little behind already. I am really excited about trying to read so many books in one year. Picking out second one now!

message 157: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I finished my first book too, The Dutchman by Maan Meyers. I really liked it and it's the first book in a series so that gives me 5 or 6 more books to read. I've started my second book and hope to finish it today and also start my third. Good luck everyone!!

message 158: by Afsana (new)

Afsana (afsanaz) ongrats Catherine-it seem we are all doing good

I know I am going to be in trouble once school starts... TOMORROW, because all my reading time will get eaten up with school reading (and those distance courses really load it on!) :o(

hope you like it let me know

message 169: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I finished my first book which I had started last year but the book I read yesterday I read the whole thing in a day. The two other books I ae going are just easier to put down. Astrid & Veronika by Linda Olsson and The Fourth Angel by Suzanne Chazin. Right now I just feel like books that grab me and I can get into fast and will finish just as fast. The only problem is been spending more time online then off.

message 170: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I finished book one yesterday The Whispering Room. Am in the middle of book 2 Hot and hope to start #3 Every Breath She Takes this evening. Doing good so far.

message 171: by Ann aka Iftcan (new)

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 394 comments Well, I just finished another book. :o) For those of you who like your vamps in a lighter vein (ok, ok, I know, bad, bad, BAD Ift) You might want to try the Nice Girls Don't series by Molly Harper. I mean, you have a small town in Kentucky (Half Moon Hollow) where there are vamps, ghosts and were-wolves oh my. The were's are red-necks, the ghosts don't let the fact that they ARE ghosts interfere with their love life and the vamps are, of course delish--and going through lots of existential anguish. Emo-vamps galore--but FUNNY emo-vamps. :o)

message 172: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) Barbsis if you liked The Whispering Room make sure to check out The Dollmaker and The Devil's Footprints by the same author. I just read both of those this weekend and they were good too and had that creepy feel to them.

Divergent_Librocubicularist I've got a couple books for that series and plan to acquire the rest for reading sometime this year. :)

message 174: by Connie (new)

Connie (grundig) | 57 comments I have finished book number 1 for 2010. Only have a 143 left to go. I don't know what I will be reading, I go by which book is calling out to me.
I never put what date I start the book because I usually start another one right after I finish the book. I put the date that I finished with how many stars I give it.

message 175: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 93 comments Have finished two so far: Covet (Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward (loved it!) & Read My Pins Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box by Madeleine Albright

Now working on 3 others: a fiction, a non-fiction, and an audiobook
Club Dead (Sookie Stackhouse, #3) by Charlaine Harris The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Great Depression and the New Deal by Robert Murphy Carry On, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse

message 176: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I just got four new library books. I've got a lot of reading to do!!!

message 177: by MJ (new)

MJ | 5 comments I'm started the year off good. Finished 1 book & working my way through 2 others.

message 178: by LynnB (new)

LynnB I just finished Under the Dome by Stephen King...OMG, that book needs to count as 2 or 3 books. I didn't time it, but I'm sure I read for close to 10-12 hours total. Yikes! At least it was not complicated writing to absorb or think about. And I'm an empty-nester, and with the New Years holiday, it gave me extra time. Glad that read is past me!

message 179: by Catherine (new)

Catherine It's impressive that you got it done that quickly. It's in my TBR pile.

Kat (A Journey In Reading) (ajourneyinreading) Have finished 2, trying to decide what the 3rd one will be.

I read the Dollmaker and didn't really like it. I have the Devil's Footprints on my TBR list.

message 182: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I've got 2 books down and started my 3rd today. So far the challenge is looking good!

message 183: by Afsana (new)

Afsana (afsanaz) I had finished Under The dome in the early hours of the morning

I read about 360 pages all together just to finish it

It was a good book!!!

2nd book will be easier G For gumshoe

Chose another difficult one but for a different reason- haven't been able to get into sue graftons Kinsey millhouse books but have had a few of them on my shelves to read and am doing a challenge to read books on TBR for more then a year so here goes!!

message 184: by [deleted user] (new)

Reading book 3,4, & 5.

message 185: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) I am on 6,7, and 8.

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe listening to this one

Smash Cut by Sandra Brown doing this as a buddy read

The Sleeping Doll by Jeffery Deaver This one might be a re-read, I am pretty sure that I have read this one, but I am reading the next one in the series as a buddy read in Feb, so either way I will be up to date.

message 186: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Deliverance Dane is in my (huge) TBR pile. *sigh*

message 187: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I just finished book 1! I'm working on books 2 & 3 at the moment. Considering a run to the library/bookstore to pick up a few more...

message 188: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) Catherine ~ I wasn't too sure about that one, but now with half way thru it is a lot better than I thought.

message 189: by Jennifer C (new)

Jennifer C The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe is on my ipod to be listened to after I finish Knit Two. You will have to let me know what you thought of it.

message 190: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Let me know too, Darcy. I thought it sounded good when I read the book description.

Club Dead was great. I loved it.

message 192: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I had to pick up a reserved book from the library which now I have to drop my other books so I can read the library book. The other two books they just aren't moving fast enough for me to get though. So I think I might end up starting something else that might be faster. So only 2 finished books so far this month. I'm hoping the library book which is short stories Ford County by John Grisham. I like his books but not crazy about short stories except for romance ones. So don't know if this will be a book I can get into.

message 193: by Anne (new)

Anne (annecurrin) | 26 comments This has been great! I've finished up 2 books in the past 2 days. I've about 10 books in various degrees of "currently reading". So if nothing else comes from this...I will be caught up on the books I've started. I know it will not end there...its stoking the reading fire!!

message 194: by Amber (new)

Amber I just finished my first book of the year! LOL I wish I was on book 4! LOL. This seems like such a huge goal but it will be fun to make the books off as we go! LOL I all fired up to keep reading! :)

message 195: by Anne (new)

Anne (annecurrin) | 26 comments me too Amber! It feels great to finish these books, and I can't wait to read more that have been on my shelves for a long time!!!

message 196: by Ann aka Iftcan (new)

Ann aka Iftcan (iftcan) | 394 comments Book 6 is finished and have started book 7. Gah, I hate winter. Arthritis seriously sucks.

The last book I read was Once Dead, Twice Shy, which is a Y.A. by Kim Harrison. Its a PN, with a 17 year old as the main character. Its also book 2 in the series (never mind that GR has it listed as book 1. Which I do NOT understand.) ok, forget what I just said--this IS the first full length novel--the actual "beginning" is in Prom Nights from Hell, which is a collection of short stories dealing with the ever popular PROM. :o)
