Rebecca looked at her wrist as if there was a watch there, which there wasn't. "Times up," she said. She stepped forward and punched Jacquleen. "That's for touching my boyfriend." She punched her again but with electricity coating her hand. "That's for for calling me a slut, and this," she set her fist on fire and pulled her fist back getting ready to hit Jacquleen, "Is for kissing my boyfriend!"

Zach's hand grasped Rebecca's wrist, "Um, can't you stick to regular punching?" he said. She was getting down right scary.
Rebecca whipped around and faced Zach. "Why the hell are you defending her?!" She yelled. "Did I stop you when you were pounding Kyles brains out? No! Did I stop you when you picked up the gun and poited it at him? No! So why are you stopping me?"
"First: I never intended on killing him. I was just using that as leverage. Whatever happened, I wouldn't have been able to pull the trigger. Second: I only hit him once or twice, and never with flames on my hands. And I'm defending her because there has to be another way. I mean, I've seen enough death, and injury, and hurt in the past week alone. I dont want there to be anymore unless it's absolutely necessary, and it's not absolutely necessary now, is it? You're just pissed off." Zach said.
Rebecca's eyes narrowed. "Fine," she said, snatched her hand away, and extinguished flame around her hand.
Zach turned to Jaquleen, "You saw what she can do. Now leave, or god help me, I will let her loose on you." Zach warned.
Jacquleen got up and massaged her jaw. "Zach," she pleaded her voice cracking and tears in the corners of her eyes. {{Srry it took 4ever -- im in trouble and technically banned from goodreads}}
Zach put his face in his hands, "Please Jaquleen, just go. If you ever get it through your head that we can be nothing more than friends then...maybe we can talk. But for now just...go." Zach said softly. He hated hurting people, making them cry.
"Please," Jacquleen whispered quietly.Rebecca rolled her eyes. "Pathetic," she mumbled under her breath.
"Rebecca, be nice," zach snapped, then he took his head out of his hands and stared just over Jaquleen's shoulder, unable to look her in the eyes, "Jaquleen, I dont like you that way, so just..." Zach couldn't say anymore, he felt like the worst person in the world, and didnt deserve to speak. Or do anything.
Rebecca took Zachs hand and squeezed it lightly; reassuring him it was the right thing. "You better leave," she said to Jacquleen. "You're just making things worse for everyone.Jacquleen stared at them. "Fine I'll go," she said. "But I am not giving up. You'll be mine again Zach, don't you worry." And with that she left. slamming the door behind her.
Rebecca's eyes lightened as the magic receded. She laid her head on Zach's shoulder and kissed his neck softly. "Wanna go back to our game?" She asked quietly as an attempt to distract him from his the guilt he was feeling.
Zach shook his head, "No, I'm just going to...I don't know. Go to my room." he said as he started up the stairs.

Rebecca was about to follow after him but thought that mybe he needed some time alone. She looked around and realized that her movie was still there she put it on and curled up on the couch to watch.
Zach got up to his room, and paced. Nothing like that had ever happened. Yes, he'd broken up with some girls, but they always took the answer 'no', and left in a surge of anger, never staying around, saying 'please' and almost crying. All he knew was that he had to get Jaquleen to leave, before Rebecca hurt her. She may not have been the best person, but she didnt deserve to get hurt, and he had hurt her...he was such a...well, he couldnt think it because he had been raised better than that.
Rebecca was watching her movie but had begun to miss Zach. Sh paused her movie and started up the stairs, but half way up she decided that he still might need some time to himself and went back down, back to her movie.
Zach still paced. Why? Why did this have to happen to him? There were heartless guys who could break up with a girl in a snap, but him? He couldn't squish a bug without feeling some kind of remorse. Was it him? Maybe he was weak. Maybe...he had no idea, but he hated to hurt people, and people he knew, like, had a relationship with? He hated hurting them even more. If he had had the guts to kill Kyle, he wouldnt have come back. If he had broken up with Jaquleen more firmly, she wouldnt have come back. If, if, if....
Finally Rebecca decided to go upstairs. She walked up to Zach's door and knocked quietly.
Zach opened the door. He quickly brought Rebecca into his arms, "I'm a horrible person. I almost made her cry..." he said softly, miserably.
"Zach your not a horrible person," Rebecca said softly, lightly stoking the back in an attempt to soothe him. "I, in all honesty not trying to be mean here but, I honestly thing she has like a screw loose or something. You ended it a year ago and she is suddenly coming back out of nowhere? I don't know, she just seems kinda out there."
"yeah, but it's still no excuse..." zach said, putting his forhead on her shoulder.
Rebecca lifted Zach's face and held it in both of her hand so that she was looking right into his eyes. "You didn't do anything wrong," she insisted. "You were protecting her, 'cause who knows how over the top I would have gone if I were getting her out."
Zach nodded, "Right, right," he said, trying to reassure himself as much as her that he believed that, "I need to stop being such a baby." he muttered under his breath.
"You not a baby," Rebecca whispered. "You're just," she paused for a second looking for the right word. "Compassionate," she finally decided.
Zach sighed, "Right, right," he said, not completely reassured, but wanting to just forget about the situation.
Rebecca kissed him softly. "Besides I like you being a big softy," she laughed. "It makes you you."
Rebecca gave Zach another soft peck. "Oh I forgot to mention," she chuckled. "I also like the Cirque Du Freak series."
Zach smiled, "I've only read the first one. It was creepy."
"Don't worry, the Cirque doesn't usually come to this part of the country," Rebecca joked. "To many other vampires for Mr. Crepsly. He doesn't like being around a lot at time." She laughed and put her arm's around Zach's neck.
Zach chuckled, "Creepy does not mean the same thing as scary."
"I know," Rebecca said moving in tighter to Zach.
Zach wrapped his arms around her tightly, and just rested his head on top of hers.
Rebecca glanced up at Zach. "How come I always kiss you but you never kiss me?" She asked. "I mean after I kiss you, you kiss back. But why do you never start?"
Zach looked at her, "Because I am more than satisfied by just looking at you, so it isn't necesarry."
"That's a good enough answer for me," Rebecca smiled and slipped her head back under Zach's.
After a few minutes Rebecca went over and sat down on Zachs bed.
Zach sat next to her, "So...what time is it?" he asked.
"I'm not sure," she shrugged. "I think around 6."
Zach nodded, "Hmm..."he said, thinking.
Rebecca laid her head on his shoulder getting a little tired. Her magic had taken a lot out of her since she hadn't used it in a while.
"You know, everythings all screwed up. You have the kyle problem, Susannah has that thing with Jacob and Kahlan, and now I have a Jaquleen problem. Why did all the bad things decide to be dumped on us all at once?" Zach said, partilly talking to himself, partially wishing for an answer.
"That's it!" Rebecca exclaimed.{{srry it took along time -- chores.}}
"We set up the two nut jobs together. You call Jacquleen and I'll call," she shuttered where she would of said Kyle. "Then we ditch the 2 of them in place for eachother."
"Ok..." Zach said, slightly confused, but he got his cell phone out anyway. "Where do you want me to tell her to go?"
{{Srry it took a long time. I got in trouble and I have to be sneaky about posting}}Rebecca thought for a second. "Let's send them to the movies," she said taking out her phone to call Kyle, her fingers trembling slightly. "It'll be dark so they hopefully wont notice for a while."
"So what exactly do I tell her?" Zach asked.
