Jacob licked her cheek in place of a "youre welcome".
Susannah laughed again, and sat down next to him.
Susannah ran her fingers through his fur.
Jacob got up and lifted her onto his back by her shirt.
Susannah looked at him questioningly.
Jacob pawed at the ground the padded toward the beach.
Susannah held onto his fur to keep from falling off.
Jacob went faster still until they were flying down the beach.
Susannah closed her eyes and felt the wind rip through her hair.
Jacob ran like that for a few minutes before finally slowing to a stop.
Jacob looked up at the sky then did something he'd only thought about doing before; he howled at the moon.
Susannah watched, in awe at the beauty and grave Jacob possessed.
Jacob laid down in the sand and rolled over onto his back.
Susannah sat in the sand next to him.
Jacob started to fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing to the shore.
Susannah leaned against him as she started to fall asleep as well, the sound of his breathing lulling her to sleep.
At some point during the night Jacob shifted in his sleep. He awoke in the morning to find his arms tightly wound around Susannah's waist.
Susannah was asleep curled close to his side.
Jacob, forgetting for a moment about Susannah's lost memory, didn't think much of their position and fell back to sleep.
Susannah slept until the sun got in her eye, then she yawned and stretched, jumping back when she felt someone beside her.
Jacob woke up when she jumped and pulled his arms from, everything coming back at once. "I'm so sorry," he said, moving away from her.
Susannah stood and brushed sand off her clothes. "its fine, we just feel asleep, people shift around."
Jacob nodded. "Come on, I'll take you back to the house," he said then shifted.
They got back to the house just a few minute later.
Jacob took his sweatpants from the night before, shifted, and put them on.
" so... There's no school today? " Susannah asked.
"Nope," Jacob said, shaking his head.
Susannah sighed. "darn. "Adrian sought alek out.
Alek was at his house. "Sorry," Jacob said, shrugging slightly.
Adrian entered without knocking." I'm going to -" Susannah was cut off by a knock on the door.
"Hold that thought," Jacob said, getting up to get the door. "Can I help you?" Alek asked, sarcastically.
Shirley and Sabrina waited on the porch." you still interested in my offer? " Adrian asked.
"That depends," Alek said. "Are you prepared to start spilling some details?""Can you guys hold on just one minute," Jacob said the moment he saw them. "Great thanks," he finished before they could respond and shut the door. "S#!t!" He groaned going back into the room with Susannah.
" what do you want to know?" Adrian asked." what's wrong?" Susannah asked
"Susannah, could you please, please, run to your room, get your ring and where it for like the next … 20 minutes?" Jacob asked desperately. "What's the end game? What are you going to do with Jacob?" Alek asked.
"... Ok. " Susannah said, and she went and got it. "but why? " she asked as she slipped it on her finger." break him. "Adrian said.
"By…" Alek prompted. "Your aunt is here," Jacob said.
" putting the thing he loves most just out of his reach. " Adrian said." I don't have an aunt. " Susannah said.
"Yes you do, her name is Shirley, and a cousin Sabrina. They showed up three days ago at 4 in the morning demanding that you go live with her," Jacib explained. "We told her no and that we were engaged, which freaked her out. Then when we got married two days ago we planned to have her over and show that she has no legal standing to take you away. But now it's different. I know you don't feel the same as you did then, and that you aren't sure if you really want to be with me, but I already lost part of you, and I couldn't bare for you to leave." He pressed his forehead against hers. "Please don't leave, not yet, just let me try to get you to feel the way you used to?""And how would it work with out me?" Alek asked.
