Ángel Herrera | 2 comments Good aft all,
I'm Ángel and recently I published my first self-edited and published book by Amazon KDP.
It's name is " L'appel: Maroc ". ( https://amzn.eu/d/bVzjsWj )
Spanish written and autobiographical.
I'd say it's a photoessay, combining photos from my last trip to Maroc and 5-min-or-so essays upon thoughts, me myself and I, a way to share the most of myself with those interested in it.
I started journaling around 12 years ago and after the trip I took up a Substack blog.
Very grateful if this publication makes you start this journey with me together.

Hi Jamie,

It's great to connect with you here on Goodreads! Congratulations on your upcoming release, "Unveiled Sky A Divine Revelation." It sounds like a powerful and deeply spiritual journey, and I'm sure many readers will find it both enlightening and transformative.

I, too, write in the genre of spirituality and self-realization, with a strong focus on themes of love and divine connection. My latest book, "Just Love Her," explores similar paths of spiritual awakening and self-discovery, so I feel a kinship with the journey you've embarked on with your writing.

As for books that have touched me deeply in spirituality, I would say works like "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and "The Untethered Soul" by Michael A. Singer have profoundly influenced my perspective on life and spirituality. Their insights into living in the present moment and embracing the soul's journey have been pivotal.

I’d love to hear more about what inspired you to write "Unveiled Sky: A Divine Revelation. " I’m also always interested in discussing spiritual themes and how they resonate with others. I'm here if you ever want to exchange ideas or talk about our experiences as authors!

I wish you all the best with your book launch. I’ll be checking out "Unveiled Sky: A Divine Revelation" on NetGalley.

Please check my published book Just Love Her, and I always welcome honest feedback.

I currently have a giveaway for Just Love Her running on Goodreads, in case you're interested. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you happen to read it, as I believe that love—both in words and life—can inspire all of us. Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Gabe Aprati | 4 comments Hello! My name is Gabe and I have been writing most of my life. Born and raised in the Midwest, I now live in Southern California. Years ago, I graduated at the University of Iowa where exposure to its renowned Writers Workshop cemented my love of creative writing.

Fortunately, the career I experienced in the specialty formulations industry contributes greatly to the crafting of my briskly paced novels. It’s a peel-back-the-layers discipline I use well in the crafting of suspenseful stories. Always peopled with quirky characters and grabby dialogue, they take place in a world where things rarely turn out as they first seem.

Albert Jackson | 8 comments What Were the Chances? by Albert Stanley Jackson
Hello all:
My current genre is historical fiction/family saga/romance
I am a debut author and my book as been out almost a year now.

I am truly honored to be part of this esteemed group. My name is Albert Stanley Jackson, and I am the proud author of "What Were The Chances?" A book that has garnered attention on WLWT News and has been featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Available both online and in select bookstores like Barnes & Noble and Joseph-Beth, as well as in eBook format exclusively on Amazon, my novel traces the inspiring journey of Sylvia Rose Turner. Raised in challenging circumstances in rural Mississippi, Sylvia Rose's resilience and determination propel her to a new life in one of Cincinnati’s most prestigious neighborhoods, Indian Hill.

Join Sylvia Rose as she navigates her extraordinary path, celebrating her triumphs and confronting the profound challenges life throws her way. It’s a story of perseverance, hope, and the remarkable strength of the human spirit.

Orlando Oriol writes: Albert Stanley Jackson skillfully crafts Sylvia, a beacon of strength raised in rural Mississippi. Her distinctive perspective shapes a compelling journey, revealing a character whose unwavering beliefs and dedication to family captivate readers. Jackson's portrayal of Sylvia evokes admiration, offering a protagonist embodying profound values of responsibility and compassion. Bravo to Albert Stanley Jackson for creating a memorable character who resonates with authenticity and leaves a lasting impact on those who venture into this poignant tale.

Warwick Wood | 11 comments A big hello to all those readers of mystery and romance novels based on actual 20th Century historical events. Events that, years later, impact on unsuspecting lives.

With this in mind let me introduce my second book, just published, Your Move: The Girl in the Park. And to hopefully whet your appetite, and perhaps even prompt you to give it a read and, even better, a review, here's the general idea.

A game of chess. The sacrifice of a queen.

In London, 1973, two strangers sit across from each other in a park playing a game that will change both their lives forever.
One simple gambit will draw both Evelyn Copeland, a researcher, and Krystyna Zygalska, daughter of a Polish diplomat, into a labyrinth of secrets, betrayal and death, as conflicting realities lead to the uncovering of an event that occurred twenty-eight years earlier in 1945.
An event that one person will go to any lengths to keep buried forever.

Your Move: The Girl in the Park

I am a writer and painter. I live in Los Angeles. I grew up in Buffalo NY. I attended The University of Buffalo and also The University of California at Berkeley. I have taught English, worked as a copywriter in the ad biz in NY and operated a construction business. I have written 16 books, 12 of which can be found on Amazon, the others must wait until a whole bunch of people are safely dead. My answer to people who ask what kind of books I write is: I write books in which the third person singular does not exist. I grew up on the west side of Buffalo with a bunch of Tony Soprano types minus the guns and knives and that is the voice to identify itself in the books—offbeat, on the dry side, funny. I write like myself and no-one else but if comparisons must be made lets go with Bukowski, Henry Miller and David Sedaris. A friend of a friend of mine who read one of my books said: He is the Jack Nicholson of prose—not a bad way to put it.
I once came across a conversation between David Remnick (editor of The New Yorker) and Roger Angell on the subject of writers and why is it so hard, quote, to find a truly funny writer, unquote.
I thought this over and said: This is my cue to make an end run around all the poor intern types wrestling with the mountain of unsolicited garbage that besieges them relentlessly without end and I fired off a letter to David Remnick and included a story—My Most Amazing Student—and said I had major sympathy for his funny writer problem and here was a story that could somewhat relieve his pain. I signed the letter: Hilariously yours.
David failed to reply.

Rudolph Kohn

I'm a fledgling writer and an avid reader. I read a bunch of different stuff, and three of my favorite writers are Rex Stout, Arthur C. Clarke, and Raymond E. Feist. I also really enjoy Terry Pratchett. In the nonfiction sphere, I read a lot about science and economics.

I've published three recent novellas--all of them have in common that they mix mystery and suspense with hard science fiction elements and setting. I tinker around with cosmic horror sometimes, too.

I was a professional experimental physicist for several years, and I took some time off to do some writing. I've been creating a lot of short stories and am finishing up my first novel!

Looking forward to getting lots of great recommendations from everyone!

Avery Duffy here. As a way of introducing myself, I started writing during a blizzard so epic, even the squirrels were wearing hats. It was like a cosmic joke, trapping me in my house with a blank page. So, I filled it with words, and then I couldn’t stop.
Now, I’m addicted to the thrill of creating worlds and characters who often get into unpredictable predicaments. It’s like being the puppet master in a chaotic puppet show, but without the strings. When I write, often it is like a movie to me. Just like a reader, I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Nancy (nandane) | 3 comments Hi. Ive been published for many years, my genre Historical fiction, but I'm about to release my first contemporary fiction, a political thriller filled with action. The title is The Next Target. I hope you will all give it a read. The release date is Oct 15th, but my giveaway starts on Sept 15th. Here is a review "The Next Target is a compelling work of fiction wrapped around the ugly, cutthroat world of Wall Street fraud, or more specifically, naked short selling. Author Nancy Dane pens a highly personal, emotional tale, using as a backdrop a pernicious type of stock market manipulation that captured headlines after the 2008 economic meltdown and again when the GameStop frenzy during the 2021 pandemic captured America’s interest. While readers will learn about the mechanics (and the consequences) of unchecked greed, the real story focuses on a father whose life work is destroyed by ruthless criminals, and his daughter who, along with a persistent journalist, seek the truth. Their journey takes them down twisting, increasingly dangerous paths that seem to lead to the highest levels of power in the nation’s Capital and beyond. Weaving both fact and fiction into a sordid tale of corruption and greed, the story is somehow simultaneously incredible and believable. The continual twists and turns will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish."

Steve Patton | 6 comments At first I could stay it started about three years ago, but it really didn't...it started some 49 years ago. I have always written, and I did write books and short stories long before I ever had anything published. And my first published book, The Marsh Adventures: Of Times and Places, originally was never going to be published.

I have enjoyed writting for as long as I can remember, and my first memories of actually writing began in 2nd Grade (albeit, in 1st Grade I did win our reading contest!)

I was strongly encouraged my junior year in high school by my English teacher to have some of my works published, but I never pursued it. In my twenties I did try to have some "how to" articles published with no success, but I did get some of my "advice" published during one year of that period.

Fast forward to today, and I wrote the aforementioned story for my son, and then three years later decided to have it published. I wrote two more stories following the subsequent years, and have also published one of those, with the third story most likely published in 2025. The time was just...write...I mean...right.

I am not someone who overnight decided to start writing, no, that has been all my life, but I am someone who overnight decided to pursue having a book published and see it through.

I have a lot of books to write and I will write about any genre, although the first books out were for children and young adult. For more detail about my full journey, or my books, check out: https://www.ridgewriters.com

So, history repeats, and I invite you to time travel to "The Val and Roddy DeVere Gilded Age Series," six mystery novels set in 1898-99 starring a husband-and-wife team who start sleuthing to save a close friend from a killer on the prowl. The next months find the couple--a western silver heiress and a New York gentleman-- tracking murderers from elite Newport to New York's Fifth Avenue, Chicago, Palm Beach, the Hudson Valley, and back to Newport where homicide erupts yet again.
The series starts with A GILDED DEATH, so visit my website and tap into the tempting GILDED title to take to a world of luxury, romance, paranormal visions, close calls, and answers to the question: WhoDunnit!
