The conclusion to the Non-Entity series sees Rod, a retired special forces soldier with God-given super powers, share his story. Rod must overcome his battle with supernatural evil, and his PTSD. Will he be the man God has called him to be? I highly recommend you read and find out!
Pros: As always in this series, the characters are compelling. I love how the author makes even the side characters people that we care about. As in the rest of this series, the emphasis is on the Christian faith, and I love that. The stories in this series aren’t lame, I appreciate the careful crafting and interweaving done.
Cons: Swearing, really unnecessary in a Christian book. I feel like “he swore” would have been sufficient.
I enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it. Rod, who started out as a sidekick character in the Non-Entity finally gets his chance to tell his story. This book rounds out the series quite nicely and answers some of the questions that the readers have been hoping for!

In this first book, Alexio Sopholus returns home after ten years away at the Academy. When he returns, he soon finds his lands under attack by barbarians bent on domination of the kingdom. With the help of his large animal friends and others, he manages to initially fight off the invaders, but draws the suspicions and fears of his own leaders. Faced with death, destruction, and betrayal all around him, Alexio is forced to conclude that all the morality, philosophy, ethics, and behavior taught to him in school are all but useless when someone has you at the point of a sword. Then you must either fight, run, or die. Alexio wages war. It will be a war without pity, mercy, and against the laws of both gods and men. It will result in Alexio finding himself an outcast in his own land.
In the second book, Alexio and his wife still find themselves in danger from the barbarians and his own leaders. After an assassination attempt, a bold move by the barbarians put the entire kingdom in danger. Alexio and a small party of friends must travel to a foreign kingdom to ask aid from an unreliable source. Discovering an even more insidious plot against them, Alexio and a small group of mages must flee for their lives. When they return, they find their kingdom in shambles, the Brotherhood of Mages in tatters, and an imminent threat from the barbarians to sweep all of them aside. Labyrinth: World of the Stone Maze (Book 1)
Jost is an unusual loner in Cartha. He wanders the stone maze that surrounds his city, where hideous creatures dwell and danger lurks. No one else dares set foot within the maze.
On a day like any other, he discovers a gem in the walls, which he takes for himself. But the gem contains an ancient magic which protects Cartha, and when Jost returns to the city, he finds it under attack by monsters.
Now, Jost must go deeper into the labyrinth than he ever has before, and unearth the secrets of the magic in this world. If he doesn’t learn to understand it, it will consume the other cities and all of humanity.

Chapter 13: Finding His Calling

The woman’s husband saw the exchange from about ten feet away and Rod felt the man’s anger rise. The man started towards Mary with violence in his heart. Rod sprang between them, placing his hand across the man’s chest. The man was about an inch taller and looked like he weighed fifty pounds more than Rod, but Rod stopped him with an open hand to his chest. The man stepped back and did martial arts pose that remind Rod of a cartoon character. Rod stood between the stranger and his wife at a quarter turn to verify the exact location of both.
The man attempted a roundhouse kick at Rod. His right-footed kick was slow and clumsy, and Rod’s left hand easily caught it. Rod’s military training was activated from the move, and without thinking, he drove his right elbow down the outside of the man’s knee causing it to crumble under the pressure. Rod let go of the man’s foot, and he dropped, writhing in pain on the floor as a manager approached. Soon after, a policeman appeared at the site of the incident.
