I tend to re-listen to series books to get into world before new book comes out and I re-listen to favorites when I am doing things I know will cause me to miss words.Nalini Singh especially the Psy-Changeling series
J.D. Robb I re-read all in audio in order and listen again to favorites.
Shelly Laurenston books make me laugh so in addition to before new book I sometimes do them as mood changer when I finish sad or stressful book.
Rex Stout Nero Wolfe books have been favorites for years so I can pretty much re-listen/re-read any of them any time.
There are more including ones I re-listen to at Christmas but these give an idea about my re-listening.
I rarely re-listen to books but there are a few notable exceptions. A couple that spring to mind are Assassin's Apprentice and that entire series, for the exceptional storytelling. Company of Liars both for the great story and the audio by David Thorpe.

I'm about to start the Deathless series by Chris Fox and I read that he does a quick recap like tv shows used to do "last time on ….". And you can just skip to the first chapter if you don't need a recap. I thought that was really clever and wish other authors would imitate.
I am currently in a buddy reads group for J.D. Robb, we are reading one book a month to go through the whole series. I use the audio versions of this series. This will be my second time through them and I have enjoyed reacquainting myself with the characters I may have forgotten.I tend to re-read series, especially if it has been awhile between installments. I listen to the previous book so I can be caught up when I get my hands on the newer one.

Next week I will be re-listening The Stone Circle to be ready for The Lantern Men on February 6th (or on my birthday the day after: my yearly present to myself, the new Ruth Galloway).
I re-listen to many books. As some said, for that feeling of comfort, or revisiting an old friend, if I'm having a hard time finding something new, or simply because I love a readers voice and can't get my hands on something new read by them.I tend to listen to Stephen King books over and over, but also anything read by Campbell Scott. Stephen Lang, Mare Winningham, Johanna Parker and George Guidall to name a few.
