Hi Emma,

I meant more along the lines of a parallel universe story, like in science fiction, where all of the characters are there but slightly altered. It sounds like you are doing something similar to this. **My daughter just explained to me what fan-fiction is!** Also, it would be interesting to see P&P from Mr. Bennett's viewpoint. He is in the library or deflecting Mrs. Bennett's histrionics most of the time, so we don't get enough of him.

So, how does this work? Are these advanced reader copies? I'm just hesitant to put my address out on the site without knowing more.

I don't believe your name and address ever get posted so anyone can see it. It just goes into the Giveaway database I think. Check it out see if you would like to do it, a lot of good books are posted to give away.

Have you ever done one of these giveaways? I like the idea of getting free books and being able to read books that we'll never see in my library.

I like the idea of a different take on Mr Bennet. He deserves some attention!

Meredith (Austenesque Reviews) (merry816) | 41 comments Yay! A new book to read! I love the premise! I agree Mr. Bennet does deserve more attention! Congratulations on having your book published I know that must be so exciting!

Marilyn Brant (marilynbrant) | 18 comments Emma, congrats on the publication of your novel! That's always exciting!! :)

Jeannette, I've signed up for a handful of GoodReads contests as a reader, but I've also hosted a couple of them as an author. As Emma mentioned, the author or publisher sending out books gets *only* the addresses of the people who win copies. Furthermore, it's written in the rules that the authors cannot *keep* those addresses for any further promotions. We agree that we'll send out the book (or advanced reading copy) and that's it. So, even if you win, you should never get any additional promotional material from that author unless you go to that author's website and sign up for it.

Thanks everyone -- I entered the contest! I hope to see a few reviews of the book soon. It looks interesting.
