Hello everyone,Thank you, Rick, for inviting me to join your group. I have written a memoir, The Gerbil Farmer's Daughter (yep, all true) and a novel, Sleeping Tigers. I am an eclectic reader; for instance, right now I am reading the wonderful collection of essays, Pulphead, and The Hiding Place by Trezza Azzopardi, a Booker prize finalist. I also gobble down British mystery writers by the dozen. So nice to meet you all! My web site is www.authorhollyrobinson.com if you want to read any of my magazine articles or essays (I write freelance pieces for a variety of U.S. magazines) and excerpts of either of my books. Best regards, Holly

Hi, my name is Susie and I want to thank Rick for the invitation to join this group. I became a book addict @ a very young age. I read almost everything.I enjoy most of what I read. I began my addiction by reading packages, cereal boxes, soda bottles, cracker boxes, if there was print on it,I read it. I moved on to comics, etc., now I am here.
Authors I've loved-too many to name. New authors I've just recently enjoyed in the past year; Pablo D'Stair, Erma Steppe, William Young,Abidemi Sanusi, etc. Thank you again for the invitation. susie

Don't know if this is the right forum, but I have a new book, a humor collection - LITTLE LEAVES THAT NEVER APPEARED IN THE NEW YORKER - http://amzn.to/xv0pQHow do I get it added to my author dashboard? It shows my other four books -- I just can't find where I can add a new book. I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, I'm Nell and I probably shouldn't join any more groups, but couldn't resist one named after James Mason (of the deep velvet voice). I'm an artist and writer with a leaning towards all that's mystical, magickal and possibly mad, but that's probably enough about me. Henry, I had the same problem. I think I added the book to my bookshelf as if I'd just read it, but you may have to add it manually now, as if you were a librarian, as from today books don't come straight from Amazon. You can do this with your own books even if you're not one, and upload the cover image from your computer. Once the book is on Goodreads you can add it to your list if it doesn't arrive automatically.
Edited to add that the book is here, on Goodreads - I added it to my TBR shelf - you can see it on my profile. If you click where it says 'To add more perform a search' below your books on your profile page, that may work.

But if I go to my author dashboard, there are only four, the last book 'Little Leaves . . ." isn't among them. I'm occasionally on Goodreads, but I'm not familiar with its intricacies -- and there are intricacies. And today I read in Galley Cat they are no longer picking up info from Amazon. I checked and it says all my books are 'safe,' yet I'm still left wondering how to get that last pesky book into my author dashboard.
And thanks again, I do see where you added it.

Hi Rick, and thanks for making me aware of the group. I wrote a book called The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg
by Doug Bremner
that is nonfiction/memoir about a psychiatrist who takes on a multi-billion dollar drug company, gets chewed up and spit out and finds his mother along the way.
I've only been on goodreads a few months but I find it pretty addictive. My own reading lately has been mostly fellow indie authors selling their goods for cheap on kindle. I've bought so many books over the years that I ran out of space in my house so the new kindle thing is kind of a relief and it is nice to see fellow authors no longer lamenting about the death of publishing and not getting an agent and moving forward with publishing their own works.

Hello from the UK and thank you, Rick for inviting me to join the group. Along with writing mainly non-fiction, I pen the occasional flash and children's story and am a freelance copy editor.
Favourite reading genres: cosy crime and 'women's fiction' (a step up from chicklit!)
So that's me.
Thanks for inviting me to join the group Rick.My name is Sarah,I hail from Scotland and I love to read. I was gifted a Kindle seven months ago and so began my induction into the world of the 'Indie' author.I have to date read 55 self published books and I am totally hooked. The quality and originality of these works never cease to amaze me. I look forward to discussing some of my discoveries with you all.

Thanks for the invitation to join! I am a Young Adult Novelist, freelancer and avid blogger. I love to read about as much as I love to write - which is a LOT. :) I love to read classic literature - Jane Eyre is my all time favorite book - but I also immensely enjoy the YA genre. It's really evolved over the years.
Hi everyone!Thank you for inviting me to join the group, Rick. I really appreciate it. My name is Tracey Garvis Graves and I love to read. My favorite genres are urban fantasy, women's fiction, YA, and contemporary romance (but I'll read almost anything). I'm also the author of On the Island, a contemporary romantic adventure novel.
On the Island
I look forward to reading everyone's posts :)
Thank you,
Tracey
Thanks Rick for the invitation! I'm Sam and I'm the author of The Bringer and First Bitten. I look forward to chatting with you all. x
Thank you, Rick for inviting me to join.I read a wide variety of genres, but tend to favour historical fiction, and fantasy.
I have written Have a Nice Weekend, which is neither fantasy nor historical. It is a contemporary novel about how, whatever hopes and dreams we may have, life does not always go to plan.
Thank you for the invitation. I am more of a writer than a reader, but still aim to read 50 books per year. I certainly do not write that many! I had no success in my struggle to find a literary agent so resorted to Self Publishing my three books on Kindle, where they are attracting a string of five star reviews! So I am very happy with the electronic literary world!
