Part 1 & 2 (view spoiler)[ The starting felt a bit abrupt. I was clueless throughout the part 1. Now I can understand the world and its magic system better. Kell is an interesting character. I think Rhy would also play an important role. Can't wait to meet Lila. (hide spoiler)]

Yes, the introduction could have been better. V.E. Schwab''s books are always character focused which is something I love. But can't say the same about the plots and storylines.

(view spoiler)[ Wow! This book was so fast paced. I finished it faster than I expected. Didn't care for the ending. The beginning and and the end, both were underwhelming. Absolutely loved these characters. Lila was my favourite. Loved Kell and Rhys too. But the plot had so many loopholes.
For instance, the woman who asked Kell to smuggle the letter aka the stone to her brother. But technically that's absurd. How can she have a brother if nobody can cross the doors between the worlds and it's been 300 years since the war. Kell did make the stupidest mistake...Maybe he realized it afterwards but it was too late. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ This is moving a little too slowly for me. I like the characters and the world is interesting but I need more to happen and the characters to interact more. I’m surprised we haven’t heard more from Holland yet either. He seemed like he was going to be a main character but I’m 3/4 of the way through and we’ve only seen him a little. (hide spoiler)]

It didn’t feel like anything was really set up for the next book either so I don’t think I’ll bother continuing with the series. (hide spoiler)]

Finding out holland is controlled even at his level of power only adds to not trusting white london. And kell needs to stop bringing trinkets over. Parts 5-7: (view spoiler)[ poor Barron. He seemed like such a good guy. Holland didnt have to kill him. Also kell bringing lila with him seems like such a bad idea. Humans arent meant to travel between londons. I feel like even thought kell is trying to help, hes making things worse (hide spoiler)]

Kell joining his life to Rhys to save him, the fall of the twin rulers, Holland being taken by the ground ... so much happened at the end that its easy to lose some of it but each part is so important! Glad Red London was saved but scared of whats going to happen in white london now that theres no rulers (hide spoiler)]
