The Midnight Hour - I just went through my library's recommendations and found this by an author I hadn't read. I may change my mind on this one, if I notice something I like better. I'm also The God of the Woods, having seen several people recommend it here.

This is one of the easier prompts for me. Half of my books, in a given year, are usually new-to-me authors. For now, I’m slotting in Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.

A few that I'm considering areHappiness: A Novel
The Saint of Bright Doors
There Are Rivers in the Sky
A Swim in a Pond in the Rain
Mrs. Endicott's Splendid Adventure
These are possibilities for other ATY prompts, but could fit here. I got these from the tournament of books, Aty best of the month, recommendations/reviews from friends, awards, Obama, and GR searches.
Martyr!
Endling
Poor Deer
How to Say Babylon
The Picnic: A Dream of Freedom and the Collapse of the Iron Curtain
Help Wanted
The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois
The Mind Electric: A Neurologist on the Strangeness and Wonder of Our Brains
Audition
Before voting starting, I had thrown out a more involved version of this prompt (read a book by the author who shows up the most on your TBR list but that you haven't read anything by yet). Going through my TBR at that time, I found I had five new-to-me authors with six TBR entries each (Walter Jon Williams, Roshani Chokshi, Tochi Onyebuchi, Adrian Tchaikovsky and Kelly Link). At that point, I made it a reading goal for this year to read a book by each of them, but so far, I've only read Children of Time. So I think I'll defer at least two of those until next year so I can do it for this prompt + a second book for my favorite prompt.

I met this author at the Fabled BookLovers Weekend earlier this year and was able to the books signed by her. This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead
      Current possibilities:The Husbands
Life Hacks for a Little Alien
The Office of Historical Corrections
The Brilliant History of Color in Art
Pockets: An Intimate History of How We Keep Things Close
100 Mighty Dragons All Named Broccoli
Dear Vincent
I got Mix Tape by Jane Sanderson as a kindle freebie years ago, discovered because I like to search for books and authors from my home town. It's now been made into a TV show so reading it suddenly became more urgent. It didn't seem to fit very well anywhere else, but this prompt is perfect for it.
