i read this coming-of-age book in 2016 , bought in a bookstore in London but im not sure if the book is set in England , it’s definitely set in an English speaking country though. The cover featured a stray dog with a brown coat and has a green/ or blue collar on, it was sort of a terrier breed with blue and green in the background , i think a sunset and a farm are in the bg ? The cover wasnt drawn , it was a photo of a real dog , I think the name has a word that starts with m , But take this one with a grain of salt. I dont remember much of the plot but it includes a boy finding a stray and this stray helps him through some things and then the dog becomes a service dog (as i mention in the topic). I dont think this book is a part of a series, or at least it wasnt when i read it. I would really appreciate any guesses! Thank you so much!

I dont remember honestly :( im leaning towards some other kind of service dog but then again , i dont think i can trust my memory on this ://

If published 2015/2016 you should be able to go through dogs--juvenile fiction on worldcat.org with a year range and find the cover via other sites if not there.
