Hey everyone, all the tasks will get an explanation like the one above if the task is assigned. I've been trying to keep up with questions, because I know a lot of you are planners, but some days are busier than others.

First Task - All Teams!

Task 1 - 0. Read a book celebrating October 1st.

This round begins on October 1st. October 1st has much historical significance. In 1890, Yosemite National Part was established. In 1903, the first game of the modern World Series was played. In 1908, the Ford Model T went on sale. And my personal favorite, in 1971 Walt Disney World, ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth’, opened. But I had to narrow the choices down so… In honor of the first game of the World series being played in 1903, read a book that is MPG Sports. This can be a specific sport such as ‘hockey’ or ‘baseball’, or the generic ‘sports’, but either MUST be MPG. OR In honor of the Walt Disney World opening in 1971, read a book that is MPG Magic or MPG Fantasy. Teams decide between the two options.

Hey, Kat, two questions:

If we finish our task and want to pick another one, is it my understanding that we can do that? If so and you happen to choose that task at random, would we need to redo?

Also, we have a new teammate (only her 2nd challenge) and she asked if she finished a book prior to the task you gave but on the SAME day, can she use it? I think I know the answer but I wanted to give her an official answer from you.

1 - You do not pick your next task, I assign the next task after the prior task is completed. When the team is done with a task, a member of that team will post in the Q&A - links are welcome, but all I need is Team X is ready for a new task. I will then go to that team's thread and confirm the prior task is completed. If the task is completed, I will assign a new task.

2 - Books can not be started until after a task is assigned. So a book finished or even begun before a task is assigned is not eligible for that task. That is the same for all challenges in this group.

Kat I read Only The Devil Knows for standalone but want to check if it counts. Under the title, I've just noticed there is a 'Criminal Delights' link, but a lot of the books there are part of their own series, so I'm not sure if Criminal Delights counts as a series or not? It seems more like a collection.

That goes to a listopia, not a series page. It is a little questionable as a couple of the editions include it in the title, but that will work.

Yes, rereads are allowed. Just not allowed within the challenge - so you can't read a book for Task 1 and then read it again for Task 5.

Can you please give me the specific task you are asking about. That makes it easier for me to give a definitive answer.

That said, there are over 100 tasks, but I believe pseudonyms are allowed for the tasks that ask for the team to pick an author and read a book by that author.
