What drove you up the wall? I'm starting...The opening sequence---whoa, I guess that was first chapter. Awfully short. Anyway, it had a good moment that got me empathizing--when the MC kneels down and aaah! overbalances and has to shuffle forward to keep from falling over... happens all the time, I relate.
Finished. I think I answered my own question just by reading.... I'm guessing it was all the (view spoiler)
Yea... meant to come and comment on a different work break... had to get back to work when I read...
That kind of stuff drives me crazy, and is super common in cozy mysteries...
I think I'm more forgiving in historicals, where knowledge isn't as prevalent (also those characters tend to be ahead of their time, which is fun, thinking-wise)...
The series seems to be more about premise than characters... book 2 is a different MC, who goes on the run from SCYTHE to save brother from death...

I really want to like this but the whole mystery took a back seat to the whole story. I mean I like the character arc and everything but the whole part of the book took a back seat for most of the book. Still going to read the second book since I do like the idea of the grim reaper, kind of reminds me of Dead Like Me.
