I'm about a third of the way through. As an audiobook, it almost has the feel of a book for early elementary. But I know there are some tricky words, so it's probably for a little older. Rox is very sweet, and it is certainly the story of her trying to adapt to her surroundings. And of course the idea that anything unknown is thought to be a monster.
I finally got to this short book. I did listen to the Audio so I could play on Goodreads at the same time. The audio seemed to be appropriate for a "robot" story. It was cute and a good read for kids. I will definitely pass it on to my niece to read. I also think it was a good book for teaching kids. Like how to watch and learn from others, but also to be caring and helpful to all no matter how you look, sound, or mean you was treated.

I finished this today - was such a wonderful book: kindness begets kindness.I was reminded a bit of The Once and Future King - all of Merlin's lessons for Arthur, learning something from everything and everyone around us. White's book had a big impact on me when I read it in my youth, and I imagine The Wild Robot would have a similar impact on kids today.

I like how the bears and the grumpy fish were made into friends - just needed to be heard, understood. And I loved the message about how it's ok to be different. The wildness didn't need to be tamed - just respect the occasional truce :)

Yep, the narrator did a great job.
I'm finished last night! Super cute and yet tackled some real issues.I agree, I loved the found family aspect.
I read this book earlier this month and just never came in here to talk about it. It was cute and I immediately thought that my nephews would like this book. The little cartoons and short chapters would make it achievable for them. I also loved the found family aspect. I just thought it was a overall a good book to teach kindness.
