TL;DR
I’m looking for a beta reader who can give me big-picture feed..."
Hello Greg,
I've just read the blurb for your manuscript. The concept you've created sounds fascinating, and I'd love to help you refine and enhance your work.
As a beta reader and line editor with a couple years of experience across multiple genres, I can provide a detailed analysis of your manuscript.
I offer:
- Feedback on characters, pacing, plot, tension, and suspense.
- Honest in-line comments and reactions in your manuscript.
- A detailed report summarizing your story’s strengths and areas to improve.
- Typos corrected (if you’re okay with it!).
- Actionable suggestions to enhance your work.
- Ongoing support—I’m always here to answer your questions.
My rate is $1.00 per 1,000 words with a 7-day turnaround. You can view testimonials and detailed service information on my website: https://thebookconn.wordpress.com/
If you're interested, please contact me at ikthebeardman@gmail.com
I'm excited about the possibility of working with you to bring your vision to life.
Best regards,
Ik

I am interested in beta reading for you.
My website, www.wordcraftedits.com has more information about my services, examples of my commenting style, and testimonials. There are also more testimonials on my Goodreads thread:

Please email me to discuss rates as this would be different than what I normally offer. My beta reading is usually extremely in depth, leaning more towards a developmental edit, so if you're looking for something surface level the rate would be different.

Congratulations on completing your book☺️! You definitely hooked me on your first book, I was all oohs and aahs until you gave the disclaimer. I like the "Wrong Place Wrong Time" trope, and I always enjoy a good "Time travel to the past" book.
I understand your feedback needs and can offer my opinions as mentioned above. I'd love to work with you on this.
Here's my website: https://bibliobeastreads.wordpress.com/
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am honestly intrigued by both your stories… I would love to read the first one once it does get represented and published. Hopefully soon!
And I would love to provide feedback on the second manuscript (fun fact: me and the protagonist share the same first name 🫣). A little about me, I’m Sarah — book editor who has edited over 30+ manuscript and beta read many more.
My beta reading services includes:-
• Chapter-wise report
• Overall feedback on plot and other elements
• Customized questionnaire
• in-line commentary
• Character report
You can check out the details like pricing on my website https://www.narrativenook.blog/servic... and testimonials directly from authors at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
If interested, shoot me an email at Sarah.narrativenook@gmail.com with the exact word count and preferred turnaround time.

Thank you!

Both of your story blurbs sound intriguing, but what really hooked me in Sarah’s story is the question of what kind of research could be so important, and so difficult to stop, that she risks erasing her own existence. That’s such an intriguing premise.
I’d be happy to beta-read your story and provide my real-time reactions as a reader, rather than detailed, technical notes, just as you mentioned you’d prefer.
My rates start at $0.0015 per word. You can learn more about me and my services on my website: fizabbas.com. Or feel free to reach out directly at fizaabbas.562@gmail.com if you think I’d be a good fit for your manuscript.
Warm regards,
Fiza

I really love the plot of both books and I'm very intrigued by the storyline of To Sarah, Whom I Hope to Meet Again Soon.
Past clients have said, I "kindly but directly point out inconsistencies" and have a keen "attention to detail" - skills I've honed to help authors like you refine their manuscripts.
I'd love to discuss how I can help you strengthen your narrative and improve your writing. Want to see the same results as my past clients?

TL;DR
I’m looking for a beta reader who can give me big-picture feedback—does the story work, are the stakes clear, is the pacing engaging, etc.
Hoping this keeps it on the lighter/cheaper side since it’s more about overall impressions than detailed notes.

More detail:
I am a meticulous plotter who cares deeply about consistency, plot holes and story logic. My first novel was about a man who could jump to any unlived day of his life, and he wound up jumping ahead and finding himself in prison for a crime he didn't commit -- he then had to go backwards to other unlived days to figure out whatever it is he was going to do before it's too late.
Sorry if I hooked you on that one, it's being queried now. I'd be happy to let you read it though! (p.s. I literally just got a rejection from a two month old query as I was typing this post lol)
This story is similar in its complexity -- it centers around Sarah Walsh, a struggling 28-year-old in present day who is sent back to 1997 by a mysterious message from her father to warn a researcher of the dangers of his work. There, she slowly realizes that stopping the researcher might erase her own existence. As Sarah searches for answers, she finds herself unexpectedly falling for someone in the past, even as she knows her time there is running out.
Wrong Place Wrong Time meets Here and Now and Then.
With an obvious dash of Back to the Future!
And so what I am looking for is not grammar or spelling but an overview of the story -- does it work logically? Does it make sense and do the themes shine thru in the end. Are there glaring plot holes? Did you understand it?
I feel like a lot of good beta readers will go into a lot of great depth -- and that's great and something I will be wanting in round two for sure.
But if there are any people out there who want to read and offer their opinions on the above, please, let me know your rates/availability!
Thanks!
Greg
