I'm guessing Rory saw Nikki enter the store and decided to go in and meet her. I probably wouldn't have thought much about Rory's statement that his brother had information about the night of the murders. That kind of sounds like Mark was making up stories to try to get a new trial. The assertion that Nikki's tox screen wasn't in the case file would bother me. That would be hard to lie about, especially since she remembered the blood draw. That is when I would start wondering if something was off with the case.
I thought it was coincidental for some reason. It seemed innocent enough but maybe not. I liked Rory right away. I didn't think he was making up anything to get his brother off but really believed that Mark had information Nikki needed to hear. Her memories of that night were fuzzy and Mark was there. He knew what really happened. Of course, he could be lying, but it was clear all along that more than Nikki remembered happened and I felt John was involved all along. A lot of what Nikki "knew", John told her.
I like Rory from the start, too. However, I was on the fence about the evidence he found. My head said, "show me" and I'm sure Nikki felt the same. I was sure Rory had additional information about the party that Nikki needed to know.
I liked Rory from the start. He wasn't confrontational with Nikki just letting her know there were things she needed to know. John made my spidey senses go from almost the moment we meet him.
It seemed a bit too coincidental to me. I think he did arrange it, but his non-confrontational approach made him appealing. I could understand his motivation. He needed Nikki's cooperation to help his brother, so there was no point in being aggressive. I also liked him.
Not sure what is was about him but I liked Rory, too. I’m on the fence about the coincidental meeting but his assertions gave me pause. He didn’t come across as making stuff up. This is when I started paying attention to the Innocence Project.
