So it’s more of a modern time period, I can’t remember any names or where it’s set but this is what I can remember:
The story goes, a husband and wife are having the worst marital falling out, he wants to cheat around behind her back and he’s pretty sure she already is. The husband (main character) decides to come up with the idea of getting his dream bachelor pad designed completely to his liking under the guise of a “new home for them to move into” to try and “renew their marriage” and “try again” he believes his wife is none the wiser and he’s going to spring both the reveal of the house not being theirs but his and also a divorce. She however was keen to the idea all along and tops his scheme with the announcement of her pregnancy. The husband is now convinced and spiraling over the idea that his wife and the very townsfolk are all working together to frame him for all kinds of horrible things as well as ensure the birth of lucifer or satan or something directly linked to the cult that is the towns folk and involved with his wife.
A significant plot point I can remember: The husband is sitting in the waiting room of a doctor/dentist and the reception worker (female) is coming into him as the room is unaware. The main character is obviously thrown at how brazen she is as she begins touching herself in an adult manner to further give him imposibilites to believe when recalling the encounter as well as more proof that the entire town is in cahoots and all playing on his weaknesses and psychological tear down.
The cover (on kindle) was a simple dark grey with the title and author in white, a light blue pentagram in the background of the title and fetuses surrounding the pentagram in the same light blue color make up the cover. There was also a slightly grainy filter over the cover to give it texture or aesthetic.
