Audio of 1 and 5-7/8 were on Audible Plus... but now they're leaving on July 15th, like everything seems to be, this month...

Through Chapter 8. Fun so far, though there's a bit of uncomfortable... kinda want to call it sexism--but it goes both ways, so fair's fair. Not sure if "sexism" is the right word, but (view spoiler)

As soon as I realized this was cowritten with Michael Anderle, I immediately lowered my expectations...
Me and Choko read one of his series before, the first series he wrote before growing a big fanbase and started to cowrite tons of spinoffs and side series and unrelated series with people... he's one of those authors that releases a book monthly through his own indie publishing platform...
Me and Choko read Death Becomes Her & the 18 book Kurtherian Gambit series, but none of the hundreds of other books in the expanded universe of books or the sequel series Kurtherian Endgame... the megaseries churned out 250+ books in under a decade...

I enjoyed it well enough, but didn't overthink it or even pay the closest attention at times...
The NYC aspects made me think of Ghosts of Gotham or Carrion City...
The backwoods hermit aspects made me think of Highfire...
And obviously the talking dogs made me think of Iron Druid...
