This will probably give away my age, but I loved Trixie Belden mystery books. That’s the very first books I remember reading. As I got older I progressed to Barbara Cartland and Harlequin romances.

My fourth grade teacher read "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" aloud to us every day after recess... I think that was the book that turned me into a lifelong reader.
I read aloud to my kids when they were young; their favorites were Harry Potter, Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, and the Sisters Grimm.
