so she gets bitten on the lips, and I think it grants her the ability to talk to snakes, or maybe just that snake.
I don't remember much of the book, I think they had to go on some sort of quest, possibly with a royalty subplot to save a kingdom. I mostly just remember my friend being weirded out by a snake biting a girl on the lips and possibly a romantic connotation there
I read it around 2010-2014. the cover might have been dark green. It was middle grade book, but definitely in the children's section of the library
