We Can't Even...(Unless There's Books)
Jeez... I start participating again and just boss everyone around! Talk about being full of ones self :PNo worries on the reads! I went straight to the library to borrow the audiobook so I didnt miss out, and my membership had expired /facepalm
All sorted now. This all has been much more exciting than expected!
Ok I think I have everyone's pledged books listed. We have lots of pairs! Let me know if I missed any that you are committing to. I know there are some possibilities that people have. If you want me to move it from possible to committed, just let me know!
Hi, all: I love the name, Katrissa. Currently on cruise so my Internet goes off and on. I’m sorry but I can’t commit to a spreadsheet at this time…not that you would want me too! I can commit to:Right: A Heart in the Right Place, Heide Goody
Left: The Girl They Left Behind: A Novel, Roxanne Veletzos
Full: The Full Moon Coffee Shop, Mai Mochizuki
I might get to some others but hate to commit to it. We are also adding an addition to our house and having to deal with that. We head home Saturday/Sunday.
Have fun on your cruise, Sharon! Completely understand not wanting to commit to too much on vacation. If you do end up having time to read more and can't get online to discuss, just read for any words you can or maybe create a pair of your own to report when you have service again.
I hope you have a great time. I'm sure you'll appreciate the break from house stuff.
Our book group at the college is doing All the Colors of the Dark for next week, and it's available on Audio from my library, AND I'm driving to and from Maine this weekend. Can we find someone to do another None to pair with that?

I found a HATE book - No Ordinary Hate, so I used Anna's book with both love and hate for one pairing and then I will read my LOVE and HATE books for a second pairing

Enjoy your cruise Sharon 💃💃💃
I've been frantically trying to wrap up my current book before the toppler starts, but I may still have to put it aside tomorrow. I was derailed from reading for a little while today.
Ya, my libby is SO FULL of books right now! I share a Libby with my hubs and he was like why the hell are there so many books in Libby right now? And I had to tell them there were so many because of the toppler and I can't start them until Saturday :)
I have my books checked out from the library. I have my ereader all charged and ready to go. I'm ready!I'll begin the Toppler by listening to The Window at the White Cat on LibriVox.
Hi everyone.I was looking at the missing pairs.
For off, I will be reading Marrying Off Mother: And Other Stories
Can't find a book I could commit to, for 'beginning' but I can commit to one other book later. I am open to other words that need a pair.
I have my books ready to go too. It's almost time! :) I'm starting with The Last Murder at the End of the World. I am so disappointed that I wasn't able to finish my current book before the toppler. I'm going to have to put it aside. It was just longer than I expected.
Pragya wrote: "Can't find a book I could commit to, for 'beginning' but I can commit to one other book later. I am open to other words that need a pair."Pragya, would you have a TALL or SHORT book that you could read?
I'm having second thoughts about my Old Friends and New Fancies, and I'm looking to replace it with a shorter book. I have options for both TALL and SHORT, so I'm looking for a partner to help read for a pair.
ETA: Or I have two WHITE books I can read. Do you have a BLACK book?
ETA (again): I have other books for OLD or NEW, if you would like to pair up with those words.

Lanelle, yes! I have a black book. Black No More
Ok I added Black No More to pair with Lanelle's second white book and put you down for Marrying Off Mother: And Other Stories Pragya!
Katrisa wrote: "Ok I added Black No More to pair with Lanelle's second white book and put you down for Marrying Off Mother: And Other Stories Pragya!"Thanks, Katrisa!
I am starting off with The Quiet Librarian because it is one of my last two books for my current yearly challenge list. Happy Toppling everyone!

I'll be interested to see what you think of this one. I have a hold on it, but it hasn't come in yet.

So far it is pretty interesting. I was in high school when the Bosnian/Serbian conflict was happening so I don't really know much about it. I like books that give me perspectives on things I don't know much about. I had this one on a library hold and it was long, but then Chirp had it on sale so I snagged it.
I've started Humans, Bow Down as my first toppler book. It's the one I expect the least from so I'm getting it over with LOL

Having been to the region and talked to the people, I read Logavina Street: Life and Death in a Sarajevo Neighborhood during my last visit to Sarajevo and walked this street. I highly recommend reading it.

I read Black Butterflies a while back. Another book that's very informative on that conflict.
I was planning on using Black Butterflies for the title word list but it had a long wait so I ended up reading something else. But I just realized that it would work for this Toppler too!

It's on sale at Audible right now, but still too expensive. I do have some credits to use, but I'll wait for now.
I finished The Quiet Librarian. I enjoyed it. For a dual timeline book it was easy to follow - which can be a problem in audio. I really liked the MC in this one. I gave it 4 stars. Next up will be A Particular Kind of Black Man to finish up my title word list in the annual challenge.I will go make us a reporting thread!
My IN book came in today (In the Blink of an Eye) to keep the pair I also found an OUT book Inside Out.
hope Black Butterflies makes as big an impression on you as it did on me Katrisa, whenever you get it. The story has stayed with me.
I finished reading Marrying off mother.... such a good start to the toppler. This book was hilarious! I have read into the early morning hours. Will get some sleep now and post in the report thread tomorrow.
I'm glad you ladies started with good books. I had a rough start with The Last Murder at the End of the World. It was really weird and I had to restart a couple of times because I felt like I was missing something or just not understanding. I decided to just go with it and hope it came together. It is starting to get some interesting parts now, so I'm hoping it continues to get better as it goes along.
I'm looking forward to The Quiet Librarian, Katrisa. I'm happy to see that it worked for you on audio. That's what format I have a hold on.

I'm half way through Five Tuesdays in Winter. So far I'm liking it. I don't usually enjoy short stories but I like the way this author writes.
I've finished my first book, The Window at the White Cat, and I have reported it. I will begin my next book after I walk the dog :)
I finished All About Love: New Visions last night before bed and No Ordinary Hate today. All About Love was really good. No Ordinary hate isn't my normal genre, but it was cute and pretty much exactly what I thought it would be so it was fine.I am going to start In the Blink of an Eye as that one is my longest book. We are going to go down to one of our farms today after the farmers market so for the drive I will be listening to Put A Wet Paper Towel on It: The Weird and Wonderful World of Primary Schools because I don't think my hubs will care if he doesn't hear the whole thing.
You guys are smashing it! So, it must be toppler time, as I personally got smashed with a migraine this morning. I read about 6 pages of my physical book. But I started!I am on tradie time at work this week, as I finally have removalists to move all our offices out of a condemned, closed building into our current spaces, and I need to hold their hands. So I am hoping I can listen to more audiobooks this week than usual, and that will be good if my brain doesn't unfry itself quickly and I need to substitute.
