Middle School Fantasy. I read it around early 2024. I think its set in 1905 in San Francisco or somewhere in America. Spoiler.

It’s about a blonde girl who gets into a fancy magic school thanks to her rich father.
Poor people aren’t allowed to do magic, but because her dad gives the school lots of money, she gets special treatment.
One day, her dad supposedly dies in a building collapse, so she loses her privilege and is forced to become a maid at the same school.
All her friends turn on her except one girl.
As a maid, she meets a red-haired girl who is searching for her missing sister.
They secretly teach themselves magic and try to complete a special ritual/dance thing that all girls at the school must do to become magical or respected.
At one point, the mean headmistress slaps the blonde girl.
They later become friends with a poor Italian boy.
In the end, she finds out her father is actually still alive.
