Team 7 - Shelf Indulgence has completed Task 25Link to Thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
‼️ PLEASE TAKE NOTE! ‼️With the challenge ending on Sunday, June 22nd, there will a minor change to the last task. Beginning on Friday, June 20th, when teams post their completions and get a new task, they will all get the same task - except for the final teams racing for the win. Those teams will all get the same task, but a different one from the other teams so they will not be able to prep in advance for the dash to the finish. For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team. There will be no passes for the last task and to complete it, every team member must complete a book for the task and contribute to the overall book count. So, the task is considered ‘completed’ when every team member has read one book for the task, but you can continue reading in order to increase your overall book count for the task in case that is needed for a tie breaker. In the event that two or more teams are tied based on the number of tasks completed, the team with the highest book count will win The Amazing Race Team Challenge!
**Remember if your completion posts are incomplete or have the wrong page count, your books will not count. So help each other out by checking the posts!**
‼️ If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. ‼️
Posting that your team has completed the last task in the Q&A thread is not necessary as I will be checking all the team threads when the challenge ends.
I don't know if we'll be in the running for the win, but if we are you said, " For this task, instead of just completing it, you will continue reading to add to the total number of books read for your team." Does this mean we can read any book we want or does it need to be other books that fit the final task?

I can't find it so just double checking we're allowed to read any fiction book and it doesn't need to be romance? Specifically I want to read You Killed Me First

Jessica wrote: "I can't find it so just double checking we're allowed to read any fiction book and it doesn't need to be romance?"Any fiction is allowed unless specified in the task.
Which year should Team 7 - Shelf Indulgence read for the new task?Task 26 - 123. Read a book read by one of the RRRC moderators in 2024 that they rated 5 stars.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be marked as read by one of the RRRC moderators in 2022 and rated 5 stars.
Also, would it count if the 5 star book was reread in the given year?

Kat for Team 7’s Task #26 does the series rule apply? Nearly all the books between Karen. Fran, Jane & yourself that aren’t MM are the later books in the In Death, Psy-Changeling or Marie Force series.

Hi Kat, do us and team 1 need to read today's task within the next 24 hours to qualify for the winning task tomorrow?

Jessica wrote: "Hi Kat, do us and team 1 need to read today's task within the next 24 hours to qualify for the winning task tomorrow?"I think it just means that everyone will start getting the same task on Friday not that Friday starts the countdown to the finish. I think it's just our two teams in the race since Fast Like Molasses can't get Task 28 until tomorrow so we would just both get our "race to the finish" tasks on Saturday.
Q.Since page count is important for this task, I need help figuring out what page count to use.
What page count do I have to use
Storm Front 336pg
says
Published September 25th 2007 by Roc
1st, Kindle Edition, 336 pages
But there is also
Storm Front
Format
253 pages, Kindle Edition
Published
April 1, 2000 by ROC
I know this book itsn't 253 pages, I've read it several times, it's closer to 400.
Can I use the 336pages, since it does say 1st edition?
amazon says
the first kindle edition is 332pgs
Jessica wrote: "Hi Kat, do us and team 1 need to read today's task within the next 24 hours to qualify for the winning task tomorrow?"Amanda's answer is correct. Your team (and Team 1) will not be eligible for another task until Saturday, the 21st and will get your final task then. The other teams can start to get their last task tomorrow, your teams will get a different task from them so there no preplanning.

Either page count is good. The first edition you listed because it is labeled as a first edition and the second because it is the earliest dated English language edition. From the signup thread and the team threads:
**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

I just wanted to double check about the new task for Team 7 - Shelf Indulgence. We had this task as Task 19, should we repeat it?
