Sabotages and Boosts
* Each sabotage or boost can only be used once.
* Sabotaging is optional. It is not mandatory.
* No sabotages on Week 10.
* Only 1 sabotage will be effective for a receiving team each week. (In other words, if Teams 2, 3 and 7 all send a sabotage to Team 5, only 1 will be in effect. The first sabotage submitted for a specific team in the sabotaging team's weekly Completion Post will be accepted. You will lose your sabotage even if it doesn't affect a team.)

Flat Tire - this sabotage will limit 1 player on a team to read for 2 tasks
description

Rain Delay - this sabotage prevents 1 player from beginning to read on Wednesday; that player cannot begin reading until Friday
description

USED High Octane Fuel - this boost allows 2 players to read for a 4th task
description

USED Guest Driver - this boost adds a player to your team for 1 week (in other words, a player can read a 2nd book for up to 3 more tasks)

First of all, pick a name for your team, group, or squad.

Second, decide who will keep track of the team's claimed and completed tasks. It can be on a spreadsheet or here in a post.

Third, decide who will make the team's Completion Posts. (It can be one person, or you can take turns. The team's Completion Post can be posted as soon as everyone has reported. The latest the team Completion Post can be posted is Tuesday morning.)

Fourth, decide what strategy or method your team will use to read for the tasks.

Last of all, check your engine and tires, gather your crew (check out library books and charge your devices), purchase fuel (snacks and soda), and get ready for a great race!

sweet orange books | 95 comments 1/ Name suggestion: The Voyagers
2/ Happy to keep track of the claimed and completed tasks
3/ Happy to write the Completion Posts as well, unless one of you wants to do it!
4/ Strategy could be to pick the most difficult tasks first (for example, choose 12 for a 2012 book instead of 20)
5/ Let's have fun! :)

Week 1: My plan is to listen to the audiobook "The One Thing"
- Numbers: 12 (published 2012) or 1, 2, 20
- Letters: T
- Tags: audiobook / library
- Settings: Texas
- Scavenger words: foundation

I'm kinda worried about Team 1.

You haven't discussed strategy or who will keep track of the tasks. I would really like to see you succeed, but I think it will take a bit more excitement and enthusiasm.

sweet orange books | 95 comments Hi Lanelle, thank you for checking on us 😊!

Yes, I will keep track of our progress and submit the completion posts every Monday by midnight :)

Team - let's all post the book we are reading for the week each Wednesday. This week, let's post it by Saturday afternoon! Make a firm choice of the three tasks your book fits into.

Next steps:
1. David and I have already posted our books, but they each fit more than 3 tasks. David and I will repost our books and only chose three tasks.
2. Ira and Ivelisse will also need to post their book of the week by Saturday afternoon.

Q&A
1. What if someone posted a book with the task you wanted?

Two choices, you can either chose another task, or you can ask the member of the team if they can switch it to allow you to pick that exact task. For example, David chose Fantasy but the book you read can only fit 3 tasks if fantasy is picked. In that case, post here a message to David asking if they can change Fantasy. They might be able to change it to YA, if that task has not already been completed by our team.

Long story short, a task is taken by the first person who post their book with that task. When the list of tasks becomes smaller, we will need to coordinate more closely :)

I'll make a list of all the tasks with checkboxes by Sunday to keep track of our progress!

Lanelle, you can rename our team The Voyagers :) Thank you!

David, if you go to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, you'll notice all the tags in bold lettering next to the word 'Genres'. They are Fantasy, Fiction, Young Adult, Magic, Childrens, Middle Grade, and Audiobook. Those are the first few tags that people have given the book.

If you click on '...more', and then '...show all', you'll then see all the tags. And there are a lot!

Does that answer your question?

It does, thanks. I guess most the books I read aren't popular enough to get that many tags.
