Post Apocalyptic setting with criminals sent to desert wastelands

In 2024 I read what I think was a novella of a young woman who attacked and killed her abusers. She wanted to be caught by authorities so she filmed it and posted it all online in hopes of being sentenced to something similar to wastelands. Once you were sent you were banished for life into the desert. She did this on purpose to hunt the last abuser who had been sent there and planned to kill him. She befriended 2 woman and came across several gangs. One of the gangs took her and the 2 women and she started to have feelings for one of the men. He let her run away and promised to hunt her down. The book reminded of mad max type things, with old modified cars etc. there was to be a sequel and I would love to read it
