I’m getting sucked in at this point and think I will challenge myself to see how many ID bks I can fit into this round 😄

And then we need to make sacrifices to the randomiser so the round goes on for as long as possible hehe.

I'll get my review of #6 posted before our next shelf.
😆 no sacrifices, please. Crossed fingers, hopes and wishes, allowed though.

Vengeance in Death by J.D. Robb
Series: In Death #6
Shelf #4: O / Owned (GR shelf x140+)

Rating: ✮✮✮✮½
My Review:
... the seeds of his faith were sown in blood, rooted in vengeance, and bloomed with death. As my GR friends predicted, I'm thoroughly enjoying my dive into the world of Eve and Roarke. Peabody and Summerset are a fantastic, prominent side characters. In fact, each character we come across, including McNab who we meet in this installment, are well constructed.
"No one ever loved me before you." She lifted her gaze to his as he sat on the bed again. "I didn't think I'd ever get used to it, and maybe I won't. But I've gotten to depend on it."Eve's character growth is fantastic. She's continuing to settle into the powerful emotions she feels for Roarke. And, his amusement and admiration of her, her skill as a cop and her strength on and off the job is a joy to read.
"My work is holy. It is terrible and divine."Each new case Eve and Peabody try to solve is a wonderfully twisty read. Sometimes I'm able to maybe/kinda guess, but most times I'm left wondering till the end whodunnit and I love that.
My journey through the series is far from over; as I've joked, I've only just reached the 10% completed mark. So, I have plenty left to enjoy and look forward to it.

I'm so happy you're loving this series! Are you on to the next one now?

😏 I actually jumped into book 7 after that one. With so many TBR, I don't have to worry about running out of ID books TBR anytime soon 😆

Review: Such a long wait for this book to come out, but oh man was it worth it! This story is about the youngest of the three brothers, Denver, and Noni, the woman he had a brief, but scorching affair with for a few months and then deserted. Noni is naturally furious with him when he shows back up, just in the nick of time to save her from some crazy biker dudes trying to kill her.
This is how the book opens- and it continues to swerve crazily from one crisis to the next as Noni and Denver struggle to save an infant from the biker gang, all the while being hunted by the evil from Denver's past.
So good! So crazy good. This is one of those that I literally stayed up all night to finish because I had to find out what happened next. And I'm so happy to say that the ending was just as satisfying as the rest of the story. And while I was really bummed that this series ended, Rebecca has several more series that I haven't got to yet, so I'm stoked to start on the next one.

No not really. It's kinda nice as far as the timeline to read them all in order, but the stories are separate from each other, there's no cliffhangers or anything like that.

Review:
This was good fun. A different kind of setting for a change as in this installment, Claire is dipping her toes into the vast ocean that is university. Her stint at MIT did of course have some Morganville flavour to it but it came from a slightly different direction than expected. And it all started out so innocently... :-p
I hope the back and forth between Claire and Shane will finally be over though, once and for all. I totally get why she was pissed at the end of the previous book and had to not pull her punches but it was getting tiring. At least these books aren't quite as YA-angsty as some other YA books out there, so it is definitely manageable. There was very little unnecessary drama of the emotional kind in this one.
Hopefully the last book in the series will hold up the momentum of this second to last book so that the series can end with a bit of a bang.

Go team!

My Review:
I accept the challenge of the dogged lieutenant. Let her poke and prod, calculate and deduce. I believe I will enjoy the bout.In this installment, Eve must tackle more than the current murder case. A disgruntled cop who has an inflated impression of herself and an equally distorted impression of Eve is determined to take down the detective. When the killer successfully uses this twisted cop to get the detective out of his way, Eve's thrown off kilter because ... Being a cop meant she wasn't helpless any longer. She's not alone and helpless now though - her circle is tight and they gather around her to help her through this challenging time while continuing to pursue the killer.
Sadly, I didn't find this mystery interesting. I'm sure why, I typically enjoy medical mysteries. Maybe my mood affected my enjoyment. Regardless, I enjoyed the storyline which focused on Eve, Roarke and her friends.
"Do you have to own everything?" [Roarke] considered a moment. "Yes," he said and smiled beautifully. It continues to crack me up, these major differences in the two of them while also having so much in common. You wouldn't think they'd make such a fantastic couple, but they certainly do.

Our next shelf is up and I’ll give ya 3 guesses to what I’ll be reading, but likely only need 1 😉

Review:
Oh, the repetitions in this one o.O
I get it, there were several wedding venues because several events were taking place and they were all described. And they were of course all decorated the same way because the wedding had a certain theme, but goodness! Phrase it differently, please!
Other than that, another enjoyable installment but it is definitely time for the series to be over. Ever so slowly the routine is starting to get old, which is probably also a reason why the last three books in the series were no longer published the traditional way but self-published.
And still, I am left wondering what Hugh Tucker's deal is. I just want to know for sure already because I still have several theories and I finally want to know which one is the correct one haha. The love and friendship among this group of friends however is awesome. No matter what, they always pull through for each other. It's always a happy ending as well of course, but it doesn't always have to end up with someone dying just for the sake of the story either, so I'm not complaining. And there's always this talk of delicious food that rarely fails to make me hungry or wondering what to cook for dinner hehe.

Hahaha
Thanks for the catch! :-)
Eta: the > was turned the wrong way. Such a silly little thing and still it eats an entire line hehe.

Review: I really enjoyed this. For one thing, dragons!! And then there was the kickass, fast-paced plot, with the two main characters both having complicated pasts that pit them against each other. I also loved Kora's unusual magic abilities, which gave the story an extra kick. The bad guy (or girl in this case) was *really* bad too, making the quest to overcome her even better. This was definitely not a standalone story though, ending on a cliffhanger. Luckily I had the second book all cued up and ready to go, and I can say that without a doubt, it was a fantastic read as well.
