Still here, just had a lot of RL hit all at once. Buts all good. Kid 1 came home for spring break, yay! She’s in veterinary school 8 hours away, so we don’t see her much. Kid 2 started his main sport season, so it’s busy but fun. Gotta squeeze that reading in when I can. Lucky it’s still early, no race to read off yet.

As this is the 10th book in the series, we have a very established world of demons & others, still all hidden from the humans.
Ella is an Incantor demon (a demon who wards, & unravels others magic) very powerful and runs a magic shop with her sister, mother & aunt, down in the Underground in Vegas.
Viper is a fallen archangel & President of a biker gang of fallen angels.
Lots of battles, hot smexy times, betrayal, and more info to add to the worldbuilding.
Loved it and would recommend the whole series.

Review: This is the first book in the Fire and Ice Trilogy. Reagan is a bounty hunter with some special magical skills that help her aquire her targets... Unless, those pesty vampires get in her way and steal her mark. To get her money she agrees to work with the sneaky vampire. The good: new series, the worldbuilding was good and I enjoyed the characters and the slow reveal of her powers and what is behind her mixed heritage. Little surprise thrown in too can make the next books in the series pretty interesting. Might me a little harder for her to fly under the radar. The not so good: Not a big fan of demons in my books, and missed that nugget before starting this series. But it was interesting enough I will most likely continue. The audio version was good.

Review: This is the sixth book in the Scotland spinoff series and 15th in the Dragonfury world. This starts off more or less as an enemy to lovers' books. The heroine Fergie (Ferguson) McGilvery, initially still living in America but comes into an inheritance of an Inn in Scotland. This inn is coveted by Kruger, a dragon-warrior. When he learns of the new innkeeper, is not pleased and sets out to get the property. What he finds is a very stubborn but beautiful red head and the dragon mate sparks start to fly. The good: I am partial to innkeeper type series, being that one of my fav writing duo has an Innkeeper series that I enjoy. Instead of space creatures, this one caters to the supernatural beings. As Fergie comes to the inn she also comes into her powers... out comes the staff and the guardians she inherits to protect this special place. The not so good: lots of side characters and woo woo stuff is introduced here and there and sometimes it doesn't seem to be tied back into the story... or I just missed the significance of the intro somewhere in between. Listened to this one in audio and it was good, but the Scottish accent was a little off at times. Overall a good listen.
This is one of those series I have enjoyed over the years but it gets lost in TBR pile, so I’m very happy bingo brought it back to my attention. I have a couple of books to catch up on.

A rejected mates story.
When Quinlan, a submissive black foot cat, is rejected by her fated mate (she's 16) things don't go well for her. He wants to mate another alpha so he can eventually take over the pack. Fast forward about 9 yrs & her FM is about to be made Alpha. Quinlan is fairly desperate to leave, so she joined the shifter website "FindYourMatch".
Isaiah's mate was a human, in a committed relationship with another human and pregnant. He also joins the website and they are matched.
They are definitely perfect for each other.
However, the shifter scum clan is gunning for Isaiah as he killed one of the 4 brothers that run that outfit. They have a very bad rep and are into everything evil, particularly trafficking shifters, drugs, guns, assassinations, kidnapping children etc etc.
Loved the rest of the Olympus Pride, of course, Havana, Bailey & Aspen particularly.

Review: This is the first in the Letters of Enchantment series and follows a young journalist's adventures in a fantasy realm where the gods are at war and the soldiers are made up of young men and women pulled from local towns. Iris Winnow's brother Forest is a soldier in the war and Iris is left behind in their city of Oath, caring for their alcoholic mother, and working for the Oath Gazette. She is competing for a columnist position with the Gazette against a rich entitled writer, Roman Kitt. While they are rivals by day, they are pulled together by magical typewriters that were inherited from both of their grandmothers / nans. These written letters are magically transported to the other writer and affection grows as the dangers of the war also pulls Roman and Iris together. Even when Iris takes a position on the front line as a war correspondent. The good: Really different premise and gives this 'enemies to lovers' storyline a new twist that I really enjoyed. The war has the feel of an old world war with the feel of older times in the US and Europe, but with a supernatural twist in a fantasy land far away. The not so good: Little bit of a slow start, but completely transforms as the book moves into different parts. Listened to this in audio and definitely plan to continue with the series.

Guess what book I had placed on hold... just became available from the library today? Woot woot! and that it fits this weeks shelf is awesome!!

I agree
and somehow missed this comment. I hate my GR app ~ just saying
I hate how I am no longer notified of comments ~ just saying
I hate how I cannot see bookcover graphics and other comment parts in the app ~ just saying
I hate how I don't feel as connected during the past couple of bingo rounds... too... ~ just saying
LOL ~ vent over

On the app, Lis, are you using the mobile or the website version?

Combo, I use the app when I need basic book info. When I bingo, I open in safari on my phone and convert back to desktop version. But on my phone it’s in a 2” x 4” space. So I’m zooming in cause I’m in my ‘50s and can’t see’ era. lol. I only have a work computer so I write my reviews in emails with formatting and send them to myself so I can cut and paste with my phone. I just miss the good old days. But resourceful, so I’ll find work arounds. I just miss stuff. lol.

Especially being a GR librarian, it would be a nightmare trying to do edits on a phone.

Review: The book is about Anna and she is a werewolf who is also an Omega. The story takes place in the same world as Mercy Thompson's world. Anna meets Charles and they have a bond and he takes her to his pack. Her old pack was ruthless to her and gave her lot of drama. She gets to the new pack and there has been werewolf killings around and she and her mate are checking it out and run into a witch who wants to get the pack under her control. It was a nice quick read and I just consumed it and can't wait to read the next book in the series :)

Eve & Peabody are dealing with a serial murder case of 2 young college students and they learn early on that photography is involved. They are expecting more deaths, despite them racing to identify the killer.
At the same time a woman who knew Roarke's mother comes forward and tells him a story about his 'real' mother, that Roarke had never heard. After checking the facts from the story he is stunned, shocked & very upset. He is also not willing to mention it to Eve as he wants her to concentrate on her case and he wants to figure out how he feels. He goes to Ireland and meets his family.
This edition had all the feels, the waste of life, the rolling hills of Ireland, senseless cancer death, and emotions all over the place.
Love this series.

Review: This is the second and final book in the duology of this short but strangely fascinating series. This picks up very shortly after where Divine Rivals left off and without too much spoilery... Iris Winnow finds herself back in Oath by snatch and grab, at the hands of her brother Forest. Not knowing what happened to Kitt, Iris is back to writing for Enva. To the outside world Roman Kitt is missing. But Kitt finds himself somewhat healed, but deep in the earth, his memories have been wiped by Dacre. He eventually finds himself as the personal correspondent working directly for Dacre, writing about the war from Dacre's angle. Gradually his memories slowly return and he plots to reconnect with Iris. Meanwhile, Iris manages to steal the 1st magical typewriter from the museum and the letters via wardrobe renews. The good: To be honest, I didn't expect to like this series as much as I did. Little bit of a slow starter, but it had layers, lots of layers and the backstory slowly revealed itself and it didn't seem so complicated until I tried to put it into words for the review. There are Gods, young adults in an alternate universe that is not so technologically advanced, but with portals and hellish creatures. To me it gives off world war period vibes with electricity, vehicles without modern tech that's mixed in with a complete level of magic and mystical beings... Supporting characters are good too. The not so good: Felt this book was less about Iris and Kitt, and more about everything but. In true YA fashion it's up to them and only they can save the world... even though the characters didn't seem that young to me. Focus was the battle between the Gods always seems petty as their universe and the fallout that comes from their selfishness and weakness. Happy I finally dove into this series, it was on my TBR pile from all the initial hype a few years ago. Not a big YA fan, but this didn't really feel like a young adult series because the characters were more mature beyond their years from life experiences. The audio version is good. Plan to explore more books by Rebecca Ross in the future.

... Love this series..."
I do too! I procrastinated on starting this series because the thought of over 40 books in a series seemed extremely daunting and honestly expensive to start... Luckily I found most of them available in audio from the library and so glad that I took the plunge. Cannot believe that we now in the 60s and still going. Characters are still evolving, mysteries are still coming out of side characters and past history. Just hopes nothing happens to Nora Roberts / JD Robb or she decides to retire, because this series is gold...

So excited that this fits the shelf this week. Just snagged a copy from the library this last week and was trying to figure out how I was going to squeeze it in between shelf reads and now I don't have to.
Happy Reading team!!

Absolute gold.
I started off reading them from the library, so I've got one or two more to read in the teens, then I'm up to the latest, and just waiting for the queue to reduce.
I've picked up quite a few on special on kindle & lots of 2nd hand paperbacks in the past. Just going for kindle now, I'm running out of room.

Arwyn & Declan survive the opening of the Gallery, however, not all is well. There is a stalker, a sorcerer, visions of arsonists, the pack is becoming aggressive due to the sorcerer and a poisoning attempt.
However, Arwyn's dad makes an appearance at the opening, Mac, the Irish Fae Sea Lord, and wants to get to know her.
This is such a good series, along with the Sam Quinn series which is connected through both heroines being cousins.
Looking forward to more books in both series.
