Carly (cparker11) | 5 comments This book could be from 1700-1900s I am not definite it's from the holocaust era but I believe it was during a war. The main thing I can remember is that the author used numbers instead of names for the characters. For example "Number 123 said that it was cold last night" "Number 456 agreed". Those are not the exact number used for the charters but just an example.

Andy Phillips | 240 comments Sorry to ask a stupid question - is this fact or fiction? Or is it fiction but set in a factual situation?

I mean, is it from the (auto)biography or a real person for example, or is it someone telling a fictional story but about something that actually happened?

I'm asking partly to rule out a few potential sci-fi stories.

I am not entirely sure to be honest now that I think about it. I read it in middle or high school. I honestly cannot remember anything at all except I think it was from the holocaust but mainly the only definite thing I remember was it using numbers as names. I know it's not much to go off of. If you have any suggestions where they definitely use numbers as names then I would try and read some samples amazon offers. I have already read enough samples from what I did on my own google search and wasn't able to find it.

Carla, is this book written for teens or adults?

Who is the main character?
What did the location look like?

Around what year did you read this book? A broad range of years is fine.

I read it in middle or high school which was around 2005-2010. I believe it was an older book possibly though. The class all got a copy of the paperback book. I don't know the audience it was originally written for, but must be young teens if that's when school had us read it. I was not interested in it back then, but it has bugged me for YEARS about finding it again.

Carly (cparker11) | 5 comments It's a possibility it wasn't a holocaust book. I might be mixing two together. Looking for suggestions of any book that may have been a high school class read that uses numbers instead of character names.
