Illustrated Sci-Fi book series. Adventures in space. Read during 1980s.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to track down a sci-fi book series I read in the UK during the 1980s. Read in 1995. Had illustrations of the ships and how they worked. Here’s what I remember:
* The series featured spaceships named Hunter 4 and Hunter 5.
* There was a character referred to as “Captain.”
* The books were thin, fully illustrated, with large, colorful, full-page images.
* They seemed aimed at younger readers but might have had broader appeal.
If anyone remembers a series like this or has suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate your help!
