Is it blue?"

Yes! Most definitely blue.

Melissa | 597 comments Okay, I went a little wild with the planning part. Let me know if you want one of my spots!

I just finished my last book of the month, so I'll be waiting for the timer to tick down....

Maybe I'll finally do a yoga video.

Maybe I'll just stare at my books with a glass of wine....

I'm not sure about the red on this one - it looks more brownish? But maybe it's maroon? What do you guys think?

message 56: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Good grief!
We still have a day and 9 hours :)

But it's still getting closer!!

Melissa | 597 comments Can everyone access the spreadsheet?

message 58: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 95 comments I can access it! Added a book too :)

I’ve finished my last book for the month too. And I’m trying to find a random short audiobook to finish before the challenge. Let’s seeee

To me it looks more like dark red, maroon like. But whatever the mods think!

Melissa | 597 comments Our Violent Ends is a go for red!!

Does it have an N character?

Happy Reading!!

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 640 comments im sorting myself out a bit.... i have started like 3 books HAHAHAH

message 65: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Ha ha! Me too!
I've started Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and Listening to Whales: What the Orcas Have Taught Us. I'm flipping back and forth between them. They are both about strong young scientific women - but one is studying faeries and the other, whales. It's funny how similar they are!

Sometimes I'm reading, and I'm like, wait, is that male assistant for faeries of for whales?

I’ll go and check now!

Edit: I did find one. It’s the protagonist’s father and I think he’s pretty important but I might have to read it to just make sure!

Melissa | 597 comments I had to rearrange hand 6 a bit - it's a wacky one with 2 draw 2s and the Green 0. I needed the Green 0 to be a draw 2, so I had to bump a book to a different hand, and then that had a cascading affect, so I had to bump another book to another hand too - all the books are still there! They might just be in a different place.

Melissa | 597 comments One of those was 5 Red Herrings from Elli - coming in as a 1 star read! Oi, those 1 star reads.... they're just the pits!
Was it a painful 1 star, Elli?

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 640 comments My weekends are allways a bit slow as im with the kiddles

pfft! yes it was a painful 1 star... but my next read is good~ Hee

Don't worry about rearranging the books! Just do what you need to do~ Book Tetris is a tough job.

Aiswrya | 95 comments Has anyone read 1st to Die by James Patterson?

message 73: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 95 comments Thoughts on this passing for a red cover? It won’t pass the tin eye check, but I feel like the building occupies roughly 50% of the cover, so it might work?

Murder on Fifth Avenue (Gaslight Mystery, #14) by Victoria Thompson

I would say no, I see way more blue

message 77: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 95 comments Okay perfect, I'll use that book for a reverse :) Thanks!

message 78: by Aiswrya (new)

Aiswrya | 95 comments Captains, do you need links to the books in the planning sheet?

message 79: by Melissa (new)

It makes it easier to check.

I agree with Brittany - there is red, but not 50%

message 81: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments If you don't get to the links, don't worry about it - I can put them in for you.
The bigger thing is to have it on your shelf - which everyone is doing fabulously at :)

message 83: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Welcome back, Denise!
Did you have a good break?

message 84: by Denise (new)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 271 comments I came home and got sick. I was off work two days. Worked yesterday and started today. My manager is trying to figure out how to cover work so I can go home. I think I'll be off tomorrow, again.

Other than the illness, the trip was wonderful!

message 85: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Oof! I hope you feel better soon It always seems like coming home from a trip is a time when people get sick.

message 86: by Denise (new)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 271 comments There were four of us traveling, so when one gets it, it's pretty much inevitable that the others will too.

The Week in UNO Statistics!

message 89: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments We have read 24 out of 99 books - that's good - about 25% and we are a little over 1/4 of the way through February.

We have 2:8 of our colored cards read, again 25%, so we're on track. These need to be claimed: 9 green and 1 green. Ilsen, were you still interested in the 9 red?

We have 3:5 of our Draw 2's claimed. The remaining 2 are tricky. One might be conquered by having a book that 2 other people read - then it could go for the 2 reverses in that hand.

message 90: by Melissa (last edited Feb 09, 2025 08:07AM) (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Laura, could you please put An Easy Death on your UNO shelf. Really, our shelves are looking great. Best yet in my opinion!

message 91: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments We should be getting word about our mini in the upcoming week. Does everyone know what a mini is? It's when we get wacky prompts to find books for! Short books are great for the minis. The captains should get the mini early in the week, and figure out any glitches. Then, by Wednesday or so we will post it to our threads.

message 92: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments Everyone has checked in within the last week, or posted a book - so we're rocking it.

message 93: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 597 comments How is everyone's weekend going? We got a lot of snow here, so I got out x-country skiing. Now for the snow removal and house chores!

It's Superbowl weekend in the US - I'm not crazy about either of the two teams, but I'll still make the snacks :)

message 94: by Brittany (new)

Brittany McCann (brittanylmccann) | 195 comments I am celebrating the food and commercials and halftime show of Superbowl, but neither team hahaha

I was invited to a Superbowl party, but I'm still not feeling well enough to go. I'm playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and listening to an audiobook in between trying to catch up on the tasks I didn't get to last week.
