My Name Is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout is first in her Amgash series (and one I should have read before her later ones. It's a simple, moving, beautifully rendered character study.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Oh well, will have to wait till I can get near the other computer. This one won’t fix it.
Two children's books. One hit, one flop. The Hit: Super Great Kids' Stories: From storytellers around the world by Kim Normanton
Probably one of the best compilations I have read of folktales and fables from around the world. An excellent bedtime companion and gift option.

Murder on North Terrace by Lainie Anderson is a delightful historical cosy mystery based on he real life of the first female police woman in South Australia.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Michaelmas Daisy by Paul Marriner
A contemporary fiction narrated from the point of view of a ghost. Could have been great had I liked the narrator. But the remaining characters saved the day.

Inga Simpson applies her literary talent and love of nature to a hopeful tale for young readers. Tannya Harricks enriches the message with her beautiful illustrations. 5★s for The Peach King.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Two contemporary middle-grade books. These are companion novels to each other, but can be read in any order as standalones. Unfortunately, the dog doesn't have that big a role to play, despite what the cover promises.Wish by Barbara O'Connor

Nesting by Roisín O’Donnell
An Irish literary fiction, this has one of the best portrayals of an abusive relationship. Excellent for a debut work.

Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism by Sarah Wynn-Williams
For those who still think that social media is beneficial. I'd have liked this better had the author been more transparent and unbiased.
