Female MC - Sabriel by Garth Nix

I've always enjoyed Nix's world building and mastery of the fantasy genre. It's taken WAY too long to get around to delving into his Abhorsen series but I'm so glad I finally did.

A brilliant introduction to this world, the history, magic, people groups and tensions. Sabriel is another brilliant example that Aussies write really bloody good fantasy fiction. I easily binged the audiobook read by the incredible Tim Curry in a weekend and am looking forward to jumping into the next in the series.

3.5★ - with the anticipation that by the end of the series I'll be upping that to 4 or 5 ★
