I finished It's a Love Story. Not my favorite book by Monaghan, but still pretty good.
- my It's a Love Story review

Crime Thriller
Setting: West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle
First novel in a series featuring former FBI director Irene Rivers (She was a supporting character in the Jonathan Grave series).
Overall, this is a powerful, emotional, intense, and riveting novel with great characterization, a solid mystery,
I finished Somewhere Beyond the Sea
today and I thought the book had some wonderful parts. Unfortunately, I found some parts felt a little too preachy. I thought the book really took off in the second half, but some of the ending felt repetitive from the first book. I listened to the audio and I think that was a mistake. The narrator was overdramatic and it took away from the sentimentality of the story. I think I would have enjoyed it more had I read a physical copy. I ended up giving it 3.5 stars and rounding down due to the audio.

I finished Blue Sisters and One Golden Summer this week and I'm about to start Antarctica by Claire Keegan :)
Here is my 4.55 rounded to 5 stars review of A Dead Draw by Robert Dugoni:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Police Procedural / Crime Novel
11th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series
Suspenseful
Well-developed and compelling characters
Occasionally pulls on the heart strings
Plenty of action
Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave by Elle CosimanoMy review : https:://www.goodreads.com/review/show/7602995441
Here is my 3.73 rounded to 4 stars review of Chasing Shadows by Robert Bryndza:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Police procedural / crime novel
9th book in the Erica Foster series
Gripping, emotional, and complex
Well-developed and compelling characters
Plenty of action
Chilling prologue
The storyline goes back and forth in time frequently which disrupted the flow and pacing for me.
I finished
Only the Beautiful and
The House Children since my last update. I think it was a mistake to read The House Children right after Only the Beautiful. They had some similar themes, but The House Children just seemed a little more juvenile. I stilll enjoyed it, but not nearly as much. I am now reading
The God of the Woods.
Here is my 4.02 rounded to 4 stars review of Stuart Woods' Finders Keepers by Brett Battles:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Action Thriller
66th book in the Stone Barrington series
Comfort reading
In this adventure and crime novel, readers quickly learn the antagonists, but it’s the journey that Stone and his team take that kept me engaged.
Tense, clever, action-filled, well-developed characters
Here is my 3.47 rounded to 3 stars review of Hard Lights by J.B. Turner:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

More of an investigation than a thriller, which is a departure for this series
