2025 Series Read: K.N. Banet's "Jacky Leon"
I’m looking forward to it, my preferred genre at the moment is UF and I’ve found a lot of new ones to try this year
Yay!It’s definitely UF. Starting with book 3, maybe, there are a couple relationships, but nothing close to PNR level, more character and character family growth related.
I’m so excited for the push to re-read this one. 😁
Love the author, haven't started this series yet, so I'm in! 😁Oh and they're all available on KU as well, nice!
CassieCruel wrote: "I’m in for at least the first one!"Me too.
I've been recommended this several times so I'll check it out.
No worries. We feature one a month, but this challenge is read-when-you-want throughout the year. :)
Ditto! Welcome to SOS, BookishWasabi (love the name!) Feel free to join us for a re-read, if ya wanna revisit Jacky and clan.

I read the first book yesterday in 1 go, cause it was sooooo gooood!! It had a lot of the early Mercy vibes (❤️), so I'm super looking forward to the rest of the series (I'm going to try my hardest not to read ahead lol)😁😁
Yay! I'm glad you enjoyed it. It only gets better, IMO. I'm trying to hold off a bit before reading #1 b/c I know I won't wanna wait a month to read #2.

Finished the 29th, so started a little early. I got both the Mercy and Kate vibe. Young one needs protecting (Mercy) and, she ends up in the lair of the enemy (Kate). I really love it and will try to hold off until next month for the next.
I’m so happy to hear y’all are enjoying it. Think you will too, Sandra 😊 I need to catchup on Hunter’s series & spinoffs.
Well, I've stalled out on
so decided to read Jacky.Loved it. Trying very hard not to read #2 straight away :D
Oh no. Not feeling it?Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It’s another series that IMHO gets better with each book 😊 (I’m sure y’all are tired of hearing me say that, sorry 😜)
Yea, I bought book 2 with an Audible credit and finding it hard not to go on to it. I have been a bit disappointed with the Mackenzie Green continuation as it has become serial like and that is just not my thing. On the 3rd there and almost done. I'm hopeful for this series to stick to the one story per book. Definitely ready for book 2.

No, not feeling
. Nothing to grab me in the first 19%. I do find EH a bit hit or miss for me.
OK, I started #2 last night and couldn't put it down. Ended up falling asleep and finished the little bit left this morning. I am loving this series. The second was better than the first for me and being that I gave the first a 5 star rating...I'll be ready to discuss when others get to it. I couldn't wait, it was there begging me to read it.
I think I’ll do a series reread before I read War Games…Just marathon it to get ready for the new one. I love this series so much!

Loved #2 a fitting end for (view spoiler)This was definitely a great choice for this year's series read.
Yea, waiting on reading the 3rd is a bit rough too. So far all of the readers here seem to really like it, so that is great.
My review for the latest book. No spoilers. I loved it, of course!
“Things that haunt a person will always haunt you. You have to have the power to face them because only then can you overcome them.”
Jacky's suffering under the guilt of her past actions, even when they helped those she loves. In this installment, which is a bit different from those previous, she's forced to face the guilt-laden actions she taken as well as the hurtful actions done to her and try to finally move past them.
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed returning to Jacky's story. I really enjoyed all of the different POVs, which we don't normally get to this extent. I, once again, find myself anxiously awaiting the next installment. Thankfully, my GR group (SOS) is re/reading this series throughout the year, so I'll be spending time with Jacky and her growing family all year long. 😊
Author's series note: There’s only 4 books left after this one and everything through the last few have been very important to what comes next. Book #12 @ July 2025
Hmmm... I think I will be reading this series more than just one book/per month. It's just soooo gooood!
Well, Amyiw got me sucked into this world from another group where she recommended as a favorite of 2024. I'm glad she did and by extension, Steph, as this must be where it all started! Finished audio and loved book 1. I definitely got Mercy and Kate Daniels vibes while listening. I have another series to add to my pile. Not sure if I will do the monthly reading we'll see. I will get to book 2 next month for sure as I have some other books to finish up this month.
