So I went to Kaliya Sahni and read books 1 & 2. Don't like them as much as the Jacky books but might be because I just don't connect to Kaliya as much as Jacky. I like Raphael though and the characters and stories are great. I just don't see K as bad ass because she talks the talk but then doesn't back it up much of the time and she is not the get hurt and it heals immortal like the shapeshifter so much more vulnerable and it sometimes is just a bit much to believe as an assassin. Still they are really good. I gave both 4 stars and would have gone on to 3 but... decided to go to my recommend books since I did a whole reread of Jacky to book 8, and that kind of put me behind in my other planned books. Loved the reread but discovered that some books flipped to better and some as not my favorites as much during the rereads though most are 5 stars, I have my favorites and least favorites even of those.
Author’s note at the end of book 12, Cruel RevengeThank you for reading!
There's only three more Jacky Leon books. The series plan goes to 15 and, we're getting so close that end. I almost can't believe it. I decided to do this long running series and for a long time it just seemed endless, like there was always going to be more Jacky around the corner and now, there's only three more books.
(view spoiler)
No firm time for the next book, but I'll give the best estimate since I'm still playing catch up from my move and other life changes.
Jacky Leon Book 13
First Half of 2026
I'm currently 'stuck' on book 6, lol. It seems there are always other books that need to come first, so I'll need to catch up.But three more books, yay! (though a tad bittersweet as well)
I’m a month behind myself, but I did jump into #12 almost immediately. Loved it and now giving myself some space from it before I rewind to #9-10.

That's great to know. So excited about all of it.

I stopped at 9 in August and haven't had any push to read on though I did do a reread which I loved and read the first 2 Kaliya. Love the series so will get back to it. Right now, time to take a break.

So reading out of order? It is a reread for you, right?
I was current prior to the start of the series read. Since it’s a favorite of mine, I read each new release almost immediately. I’m also reading one a month, from January on. I’ve just missed reading #9 in September and read it this month (along with #12 😏). I’ll re-read all, including those released and already read this year.
It’s one of my favorites I will definitely reread too. Have you read the tribunal ones? Or either of the related series? I’ve collected the related series, but haven’t read them yet. I did read the two tribunal ones though. (Can’t remember the exact series title.)
I have. It took me some time to get into Kaliya, but I ended up liking that series, too. I've read Everly and liked it okay, not as much as the others. The 2 Tribunal Archive stories were good from what I remember, it was several yrs ago I read them. Jacky's definitely my favorite of hers.
This thread kept coming up in my notifications so I decided to just give the series a try. I'm in love. I breezed through the series up until the second last one, and the only reason I'm not reading the most recent release is because that means I have to wait for the next one 🫠
I love how the family dynamics are written in this. I went from liking Hassan, to Hating (yes, with a capital h), to somewhat liking him again. Subira was an unexpected but great addition to the regularly recurring cast.
I'm just hoping the issue with Mischa gets resolved (not necessarily reconciliation, but still, some/any progress, good or bad).
One of the rare books where adult MCs actually feel like adults. The FMC and MMC have Real, Actual problems, and deal with them maturely. The younger cast FEELS younger (Landon, Dirk, Oliver, Cary etc), from the behaviours to their interpersonal problems.
all in all, I loved this series.
Landon young, fun, but being in a new relation, and with a younger person does make him seem in the younger category. I really love him.I'm also waiting to read at #10, probably won't wait for the end of the series but will wait for another so I can stop or not. I couldn't stop at the one before Dirk goes back to Germany to visit, I read until I got how that went and waited. Little need to know things. I want the next to go see sometimes.

I'm so glad we lured ya in and you're enjoying the series, Mahima. Sorry ‘bout the overload of notifications though.
