Exp: Nicholas Pullen made his debut with this unique and darkly historic tale. Looking forward to seeing what else he can put together
Janice wrote: "Did you enjoy the book?" Not as much as the others in the series but they are all just so easy to gobble up. Took me about a day and a half. Wish he had endless books for me to digest.
Badge 3, Book 21Book: The Abominable
Format: e-book, 663 pages
Task: Read book by male author name D
Exp: I just love everything Dan Simmons has written that I've come across so far regardless of how long it is...will be trying to get through all of his works eventually
Badge 3, Book 22Book: Neverwhere
Format: softcover, 370 pages
Task: read a book by male author name G
Exp: Niel Gaiman- classic fantasy as one would expect
Badge 3, book 23Book: Echoes of Honor
Format: softcover, 718 pages
Task: read a book with male author name W
Exp: David Weber is also on my must read all his stuff list! I was obsessed with his Safehold series and the heat is turning way up on the Honor Harrington series which thankfully has as many spinoffs as Dune to keep my book hunger fed.
Have you read The Terror. I read it in 2016 and gave it 3 stars, but I still remember a lot. Weird, there are books I've read within the last few months that I've rated higher and don't remember.
Badge 3, Book 24Book: The Devils
Format: hardcover, 547 pages
Task: Read a book by male author name A
Exp: saved the A for last with a book by Joe Abercrombie. Fun read but still a softer sort of fantasy than when Joe started with the hard hitting "First Law Trilogy" which was fantastic grim/dark fantasy.
Janice wrote: "Have you read The Terror. I read it in 2016 and gave it 3 stars, but I still remember a lot. Weird, there are books I've read within the last few months that I've rated higher and don't..." Haven't read "The Terror" yet but it's in my stack at home just waiting for the right place in next year's challenge. It's funny how different books hit us differently at various stages or seasons of life.
