Searching for book with a time cop

I need help finding a book series. I read the first two books in a trilogy but forgot the name of the author. It was a series about a time cop who has to break his organizations rules to bring down the bad guy. I believe in the second book they are stuck in the time of dinosaurs and gearing up for a big battle when it ends. I also remember them wearing bands on their arms that let them time travel. Any help i could get would be greatly appreciated.

Your book description doesn't ring a bell but I know one author, Poul Anderson, who wrote a lot of books about time travel, including a series called 'The Time Patrol'. Maybe you would like to check his books out for your mystery book.

I haven't read this but the series title (The Time Police) would fit?
