SOLVED. Children’s Picture Book (read in the 90s). A princess runs away because she doesn’t want to be forced to marry an ogre.

The princess disguises herself in a bear skin, then works in a kitchen. She has dresses hidden in acorns, and I remember LOVING the picture of that scene.

I have absolutely no idea what this book is called, hopefully someone else knows!

You're welcome! I rediscovered it as an adult and it was every bit as good as I remembered. The soup in the story looked so tasty, haha!
