Book: Grinch Kisses

Rating: 3.5 stars
Review: When I picked this book in the series, I read the descriptions of the others and I feel like most of the MCs were mentioned, or made brief appearances in this one. I found that very interesting as it felt like the authors must have mapped out the whole thing before any of them wrote, for the sake of continuity. This one was a cute story of an ex-foster care kid finding a home.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Review: I liked this but not for the romance which I found lacking. Maybe the couple was too familiar to each other so I didn't feel the magic. That being said I did enjoy the story in general along with the side characters. The banter was fun and lots of Christmas feel good moments.

Task 22 - 80. Read 4 books initially published in different decades.
Books selected for this task need to be initially published in different decades, though not necessarily sequential. For this task, decades will run 0-9, so 2010 through 2019 is one decade. Make sure to use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include your selected decade in your completion posts.

Sorry for popping in late, but it’s been a very busy day.
I’ll be reading SOS Hotel: No Rest for the Wicked
I am so hooked on this series.

Decade: 1810's

Pages: There are over 7000 editions on this book, so I am taking the earliest published kindle edition visible on the first page of editions which was published October 4th 2009 and is 170 pages
How it fits: published in the 1810's
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: Pride and Prejudice is probably the book I've read the most in my life. This book has a lot of similarities but whereas Pride and Prejudice has a plot and focus on romance, this book lacked a plot and instead was a bunch of people visiting each other and having amusing conversations. It felt like a gossip session and was so enjoyable, like sinking your feet into a pair of comfy slippers. There really wasn't any romance since the MCs had very little interaction until the end of the book. I think most people have been talked out of pursuing something we want because of peoples opinions and doubts, so I could really relate to Anne. She was a lovely heroin being smart and kind. Loved it!

Un...
So taken is
1810's
2000's
2020's
so 2010's are okay for me? I can do that.

No problem Skye! Remember we can all take 1 pass per game if we need it. (Though some tasks do require everyone to read at least 1 book.)

I'm really enjoying this series. Nostalgic.
Samuel's wolf in charge, while Samuel is trying to commit suicide.
The romance angle has been it a snails pace, but finally feeling like there is good progress.

Review: This was a very different take on a vampire story, which was interesting. Some dark themes for sure, but wrapped up nicely as Megan Derr's stuff usually is. I quite enjoyed.

Ooo, I like dystopia
I started with the first book I could find that I had loaded onto my phone already. Dearest Milton James
I'll take more care picking my second book.
I was saving my pass for one of the tasks during these next few days. I'm gonna be off work and cleaning house. Which would be fine to do audio, but the hubbs is gonna try to talk to me, and it will be stop and go, stop and go. No pass on this task. So I'll try to get them knocked out.

Excellent! Amazing world building of a post apocalyptic Earth destroyed by the giant monsters. But the most amazing was the Beet. The AI that inhabits the mechanical beetle, the moving home of Griffin. Loved how the back history was told via the diary inserts. Overall, great writing, great concept, and a great romance. Looking forward to Jude’s story.

Review: There is just something about Amy Bellows writing that I find particularly charming. Art, the cephalopod shifter is so obviously on the autism spectrum, but Dean is so sweet with him. It's a very cute Christmas story with very low angst.

No I'm here! I'm reading Awfully Ambrose from Amanda's list I believe. I'll then be reading All Wrapped Up, don't ask me who's list right now 😂
Took me ages to decide, trying to cover multiple challenges at once.

Review: This book felt more like a sad and lost boy finding a family to love him, than a normal love story, and it was so endearing. I loved both extrovert acting student Ambrose and introvert science student Liam, but the star of the show was definitely Liam's grandad. I think a bit more alone time between Ambrose and Liam would have made this perfect, but definitely one I could re-read and enjoy just as much, which is my only criteria for 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this one, and it wasn't even on my radar at all.
I do really like post apocalyptic. So that was a plus going in.
But the characters were great. The world building was good, I've never seen A Howl’s Moving, so didn't know what to excpect. I look forward to the next book.

Skye! I can’t believe you’ve never seen it 😱 Howl’s Moving Castle is an anime classic. You need to watch it!

It might be best to add the review link like Diane has done. I'll still post the completion as soon I'm done with this second book
