One of my favourite writing styles is when the POV is from a secondary character and you don't get the POV from the MC. The one challenge with that is the secondary character needs to be mildly interesting, frankly Hastings just came across as dumb. I do love Poirot, though, so a lot can be forgiven.

I want to start going through Brandon Sanderson catalogue, but I always look at the length of his books and go oh I can start this another time. 1000+ pagers just intimidate me now. Plus I read on my phone and anything over 400 pages and the books sometimes feel overly long.

It took me close to 3 weeks but I was listening to the audiobook for close to 80%. The last 20% was when the pace picked up so I read that over the weekend. I have a long commute (1 to 1.5 hours one way) to my new job so I started listening to audiobooks. I've always wanted to start this tome but was quite intimidated but with driving and audiobook sounded perfect.
