For me it was the Harry Potter books. But Cathy Cassidy's books as a 11 year old for me where the start of my love of the romance genre.

I don’t remember the very first book that I read that got me into reading but I do remember the first series is the O’Malley series by Dee Henderson that was amazing. I loved those books except for the very last one that was heartbreaking. Also, I didn’t know red white, and royal blue was a movie, where can it be watched?
I honestly can't remember but I think it started with Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause and just snow balled from there. I think I first read it in 5th grade and that just sparked my interest for reading 10 fold.
@Anna normand, that movie was released last year and I guess u can watch it on Amazon prime video!!

When I very first got into reading it was The Harry Potter books and a Series of Unfortunate Events. But my introduction to dark romance that got me back into reading a couple years ago was Haunting Adeline. I loved it and I've been reading dark romance ever since! I'm always looking for dark books to see just how far I can go. 24690 series was pretty dark, happy to hear any other super dark recs!

First book that got me back into reading as an adult was probably a good girls guide to murder and the skyward by brandon sanderson.As a kid a series of unfornate event and brothers grimm.
Percy Jackson, definitely. My sibling forced me into it and wowwww it has done wonders

@Nicole I had that book in my tbr once but after watching the series version, I realised it wasn't for me :( Though a good one for getting into reading.
I loved reading since I was a kid but the maximum ride series by James Patterson is what really solidified my love for reading 🥹💓

Maybe someday by Colleen Hoover when I was like 13 was the start to me reading, then I got in a bit of a slump and the ice breaker got me back reading multiple books a day
When I was younger it was Kingdom Keepers and Harry Potter. Then Shadow Falls got me back into reading, and recently Haunting Adeline. I kept getting in bad reading slumps but Haunting Adeline was my most recent out of a slump book

I am actually about to receive a custom rebound of this series that I ordered. ♥️ This series is so near and dear to my heart because my family forced me to read when I was young. man, first book i’ve ever read were books on wattpad (lol) but if you meant books that i first discovered on booktok/first read was King of Battle and Blood. wasn’t a fan of the book but glad it made me discover new books/authors🤍

It has come and go in waves over the last 15 years or so but the first time was when I was 21 and read the Child called it.Second time around- Lord of the Rings

as a child it was charlottes web, but I also loved a book called The Lemonade War. Then it was Harry Potter and now I’m really into booktok books!
Putting all the books I read as a child and a teen aside, what got me to where I am today was reading, Touching the Void, by Joe Simpson.Life is short!

Okay, what got me into just a little reading, was Ruby The Red Fairy, but Percy Jackson is what got me OBSESSED reading
I can't remember the name of the first ones because I always had the habit "offered" to me by school or even my dad with fairytale books. But one of the most remarkable for me to love reading was and I finally got that "I can't stop thinking about what is going to happen" so I wanted to read every hour of the day, in class, at home, at the bus and I even dreamed about it and it was Percy Jackson, especifically book 4: the battle of the labyrinth
