Marsha (queenboadicea) | 95 comments I THINK this is a fantasy book but I'm not certain. I saw it a couple of weeks ago at Strand Bookstore. The fore edging was in dark blue showing a sprawling blue castle with yellow where the windows would be. It was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen on a book. It's one of those lovely additions that raise a book from a mere literary creation to a work of art, like gilded edging or marbled endpapers.

But I didn't take note of the title and/or author. Please help me with this.

Marsha, you need to add more details to your topic header. If you don't know plot details, you at least must give a physical description of the book.

Len | 145 comments I don't know the book, but a publisher called Fairyloot seems to specialize in fore-edge illustrations on fantasy works.

Charlotte Mccash | 90 comments I’ve been looking for pictures online but don’t see anything that matches this description exactly. I know this seems like a bit of an out there suggestion, but could you call The Strand and ask someone behind the desk if they know the book you’re talking about? It sounds very striking, so might be the sort of thing they have out on a table with other fantasy books. Plus I think you can order from The Strand online, so they’d probably be pretty willing to help you locate it, since you might still want to buy it.

Len | 145 comments There are a selection of photographs from various sellers posted on www.abebooks.com. Use Advanced Search to search under Fairyloot or fore-edge illustration.

Marsha, do you think this book is for kids, teens or adults?

What did the cover look like?

I copied some details to the topic header. Feel free to edit it.

I go to the Strand almost every week. A week after I saw this book, I popped in and looked for it. They'd moved it and I couldn't find it no matter how I looked. I described it as I described it here. The floorwalker I spoke to talked to various other workers. Each one was certain they knew the book I spoke of but no one could give me the relevant information. That's why I decided to try my luck here.

Angela Johnson | 96 comments They're called 'sprayed edges' and if you look up sprayed edges books on Amazon you'll see a whole bunch of them and what their edges look like. Perhaps you'll find the one you're looking for there. There's one w/ a purple castle tower w/ lit windows set against a lighter lavender sky, that's called Gothic Horror Stories-Frightful Tales of the Supernatural (by various writers).

Charlotte Mccash | 90 comments Ah, I’m sorry :/. I hope you find it!

Rose Paris | 174 comments Was it a new book or a second hand book? If second hand, Hemingway Books appear to have a couple that match your description for A Court of Thorns and Roses and When the Moon Hatched. They are on instgram https://www.instagram.com/athemingway...
