I know that a lot of planning is happening right now. You are choosing which book to read for what prompt, nominate some of your choices and find a buddy or a few so that you can rack up more points for those reads.

Anyone can nominate as many books as you'd like and look for a buddy! Any book that gets two nominations or more will have a buddy thread created for discussion during October. Please decide your start date and reading pace/reading goals in this thread. Once that has been decided, the mods will create a Buddy Read Discussion thread for that title. Reading the Buddy Read Guidelines is strongly recommended. There is no promise that you will have a buddy read for your nomination(s).

@Sophie RE: Frankenstein
I'd be willing to read this with you! I was going to re-read it earlier this year and got through the foreword and stuff but never made it to the actual story lol. I was wanting to re-read before picking up Poor Things since it is a retelling of/inspired by Frankenstein.

@Brianna @Frankenstein

I’d want to take a little longer reading this one so I can fully fathom and enjoy it. Is there a particular time frame you’d want to read over? I figure it’d be easier to start from the start of the month and divide by chapters from there.

@Hafs @Lady Macbeth

I’m happy to read Lady Macbeth with you! It would be easier for me to read in either the beginning or the middle of the month.

@Sophie RE: Frankenstein
I am good to take it slow since it is a classic. I remember it being decently readable but I would certainly prefer a slower pace. I have nothing scheduled in October so no restrictions for timeframe to read.

I usually have a slow pace, but I can adapt~ From 4th to 13th, for example?

@Mina @A master of djinn
Yay!! I happy that you want to read with me! ^^ Do you want to read it on the second half of the month, starting the 15th? What pace do you prefer?

@Leslie @The golem and the jinni
Maybe the first half of november?

I’m the same, I always have a few on the go. I was thinking this schedule, let me know if you need any changes making!

@Anushka great! do you have any dates and pace in mind? My copy has the prologue + 32 chapters.

@aikaterine yayy! I don't have a copy yet so I don't know how many chapters there are but do you have a preferred pace and dates? I'm good with anything.

message 36: by aikaterine (new)

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 347 comments @Dia I don't have my copy yet either, but I see on goodreads that it's around 350 pages, so quite manageable for a mystery/thriller, especially if it's fast-paced. But I still might need a few days to get through it between work and studying xD

I am absolutely fine with starting any time that works better for you!

I don't have any other BRs planned and I can read it whenever so whenever works for you, because you have other BRs too. As for pace...wanna try 3 chapters a day? I haven't been reading much and I don't know if I'll get sucked into reading or if I'll have to bribe myself into it.

@Bopeep @Ink Blood Sister Scribe
That time frame works for me! It looks like there may be a prologue + 36 chapters. I have the Book of the Month edition which according to Goodreads (too lazy to get it off my shelf) has 407 pages so do we want to break it up around 40 pages a day? I can figure out the specific chapter breakdown but it should be about 3-4.

oct 11th: beginning- ch 5
oct 12: chapters 6- 10
oct 13: chapters 11- 15
oct 14: chapters 16- 20
oct 15: chapters 21- 25
oct 16: chapters 26- 30
oct 17: chapters 31- 35
oct 18: chapters 36- 40
oct 19: chapters 40- 44
oct 20: chapters 45- 49
oct 21: chapters 50- 54
oct 22: chapters 55- 59
oct 23: chapters 60- 64
